What should we do now that Islam has declared war on unarmed civilians? Despite their heartfelt desire, Police and Sheriffs Deputies cannot be everywhere to protect us. Law enforcement does their best, but we simply need to protect ourselves.. and we have.
Yes, armed citizens stopped mass murder. Armed citizens saved lives. In fact, ordinary citizens are the secret weapon in the defense against terrorism and mass violence. The average man or woman in the United States can be armed and effective.
That isnt speculation on my part. We have proof. Here are examples where armed civilians stopped mass murders in ordinary settings.. time and again. |

If you buy a gun from a retailer for someone who couldn't pass a background check called a straw purchase it could cost upwards of $250,000 or 10 years in jail, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
"We can usually tell by the first question," Lafayette Shooters manager Blake Boudreaux said. "If a first-time purchaser comes in and they know exactly what they're looking for, then that this gun might not be for this person." |

The final report of the campus carry policy working group at the University of Texas at Austin will go down in history as simultaneously featuring some of the finest research on the subject of licensed concealed carry on college campuses and offering two of the most poorly conceived recommendations concerning the same.
Although the reports factual research demonstrates the wisdom of placing professional academics in charge of researching an important sociopolitical issue, the reports recommendations demonstrate the impracticality of tasking those same academics with formulating policies regarding the appropriate utilization of firearms for self-defense. |

In announcing his plan to sign an executive order that would deny issuance of gun permits to individuals on the U.S. government's no-fly list, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is once again positioning himself, and so Connecticut, as a leader in pursuing sensible gun restriction policies. And what could be more sensible than denying a person, judged so risky that he cannot get on an airplane, access to a deadly weapon?

In the wake of the mass shooting in San Bernardino, the number of people seeking information about concealed firearm permits in Riverside County has soared, sheriffs officials said today.
Since that date, we estimate that we have received upwards of 1,000 calls inquiring on the concealed-carry weapon permit process, sheriffs Lt. David Teets told City News Service.
Teets said that 30 people have submitted CCW applications since the Dec. 2 shootings, now widely regarded as an Islamist-motivated terrorist attack. |

Democrat Congressman Mike Thompson (CA) and Republican Congressman Peter King (NY) are trying to push a bill through Congress that would deny gun purchases to people who are on the federal government's "no-fly" list. President Obama took to the national airwaves a few days ago to further pressure Congress to pass this legislation. King introduced H.R. 1076 back in February of this year. Now, after the shootings in California, Thompson has filed a discharge petition in an attempt to force a vote on the bill. Senate Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is trying to muster support for the bill in the upper house of Congress.

Despite the Florida Police Chiefs Association announcing support for open carry legislation tracking in the state legislature this week, some law enforcement leaders are warning the proposal is flawed and are sticking to their guns to oppose the measure.
Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, as reported by the News Service of Florida, said open carry is fundamentally dangerous.
For instance, he said, if an officer arrives at the scene of a crime and sees someone with a weapon, At a minimum, theyre going to be thrown down on the ground with a gun pointed at them or worse. |

In a 45-54 vote, the U.S. Senate has rejected an amendment to a highway funding bill that would ban gun sales to known or suspected terrorists.
In the wake of all the mass killings, it is completely understandable to ban gun sales to certain individuals. However, the key word here is suspected. What constitutes suspected? There is no bright line rule to the word suspected and it is very subjective. And who decides what the definition of suspected will be? |

Tiny Estonia, who share a long and increasingly tense border with Russia, uses a force of volunteer unpaid citizens equipped with their own military arms to hold the line.
The Estonian Defense League, a militia independent from the government, is made up of over 15,000 members, making it several times larger than the 6,500-member official Estonian Defense Forces.
Stationed in every part of the country the League is ready at a moments notice to sally out and repel possible invasion from unnamed neighbors. Its the largest military force in the region and members vow to put up more of a fight than they did when the Soviet Union took over the county in 1940 and remained for decades. |

A lot has been said about remarks by Jerry Falwell Jr. during a convocation on campus. Some authors have accused Christian leaders like Falwell of making proclamations appealing to religious authority but lacking biblical reflection. But the leader of Liberty University is actually leading charge against deadly political correctness.
Christian antagonists often use scriptural misinterpretations to lambast self-defense in general and gun ownership in particular. When unbelievers in his time tried to ensnare Jesus with his own teachings, Jesus replied, "You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God." |

A Florida sheriff drew both criticism and support earlier this month after a public announcement in which he said that private gun owners are the first line of defense in case of terrorism or mass shootings. Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey posted a video to Facebook last week, speaking about the threat of terrorism and what gun owners could do for the safety of their families and others. |

Gun permit applications and activity at firing ranges in the Twin Cities are soaring again in the aftermath of the nations latest high-profile mass shooting the Dec. 2 killings of 14 people in San Bernardino, Calif.
Anoka County saw its daily number of new applications for permits to carry nearly double, from up to 20 a day to around 30 to 40, in the days after the California shooting, Commander Paul Sommer said. Dakota County sheriffs Capt. Pat Enderlein said his office received roughly 26 new applications per day in the three days after the shooting, up from the 15 a day it averaged this year through November. |

Two conservatives on the nine-member court, Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia dissented, saying the Supreme Court should have heard the case to prevent the appeals court from relegating the Second Amendment to a second-class right.
A key component to the argument was a 2008 Supreme Court decision that said the Second Amendment of the Constitution gives an individual the right to possess a handgun for self-defense. The ruling, however, also said there could be restrictions for dangerous and unusual weapons. |

But people need to know that it is a fallacy to believe that the everyday gun owner can be expected to make all the right choices in a dangerous, fast-moving situation like a mass shooting with high-powered weapons.
When the bullets are flying, determining whos who in the zoo is hard.
If the scenario that Sen. Cruz envisions were to ever unfold, wed have a lot more dead innocents. And it would probably include some of the good guys. |

A Washington Post fact check agreed with Sen. Marco Rubio's claim that reforms to gun laws would not have prevented any of the recent mass shootings in the U.S. But both Rubio and the Post are wrong: the assault weapons ban proposed after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School would have limited the availability of the guns used in at least two recent high-profile mass shootings. And the Post downplayed or ignored other relevant gun violence prevention legislation that could have prevented -- or at least mitigated -- other recent tragedies. |

Congressman McClintock delivered this speech titled Armed Americans are the Best Defense Against Armed Terrorists on the House floor Dec 10th:
Ever since the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, leftist politicians have called for more restrictions on gun ownership for Americans. These are the same politicians who have worked for years to open our nation to unprecedented and indiscriminate immigration from hotbeds of Islamic extremism. |
