The rifle has been plagued with numerous complaints, much as the M16 was in Vietnam 40 years ago. Part of the problem is the fact that the SA80s predecessor, the L1A1 SLR (a variant of the FN FAL) had performed well in combat in numerous climates (including the Falklands War in 1982)." ...

FL: Man Pulls Gun On Armed Robbers In Hotel Parking Lot

FULL TEXT BELOW:

A local man fought back when two would-be armed robbers tried to mug him at a hotel parking lot.

Angellow Ortiz, 37, was walking to his car Tuesday afternoon at the Marriott Fairfield Inn on Vineland Road near Universal. Suddenly, two men with guns tried to rob him.

Ortiz quickly pulled out his own handgun and fired to scare them off.

Police still caught 19-year-old Miguel Arias and 18-year-old Dennis Pugh at a nearby motel room.

A Stillwater landlord has been cleared in the shooting death of a former tenant.

John Buntin, 65, shot Darren Mooreland more than two years ago during an argument over back rent. However, Buntin claimed he did so in self-defense.

Buntin said he didn't think his gun was loaded and was only trying to scare Mooreland.

He still faces a wrongful-death civil lawsuit.
