Dozens of men on motorbikes can be seen storming a gas station in England in newly released surveillance footage of what authorities have described as a Halloween night rampage.
The Greater Manchester Police said in a news release the large group of men - some armed with knives and swords - is suspected of causing "numerous instances of anti-social behavior" in the Wythenshawe and Sale areas.
Submitter's note:
This is what happens when you make self defense illegal. The hoodlums run amuck.

Though the outgoing Board of Supervisors declined to introduce a Second Amendment sanctuary resolution at its final meeting last week, the issue appears to be far from settled in Chesterfield County. Thats because two newly elected supervisors have expressed interest in revisiting it after they take office in January.
More than 70 Virginia localities have passed resolutions affirming their support for gun rights since the Nov. 5 election, when Democrats gained majorities in both the Senate and House of Delegates and consolidated their control of state government under Gov. Ralph Northam. |

The Marshall County Fiscal Court is looking over a proposed ordinance that could face legal trouble. The proposed Second Amendment sanctuary ordinance restricts the county from using resources to enforce state or federal laws the ordinance deems unlawful. The fiscal court says the unlawful acts listed in the ordinance would infringe on citizens' constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
At the first reading, Tuesday, the county attorney said the fiscal court's ordinance was not legal. Gun Owners of America provided the model for the Marshall County Second Amendment ordinance. |

Hernando County is the latest to declare itself a Second Amendment sanctuary and did so at the urging of county Commissioner Steve Champion, owner of American Gun and Pawn shop in Brooksville.
Commissioners unanimously approved the resolution on Tuesday. Champion acknowledged it had no teeth and was mostly ceremonial. Hernando joins other communities in Florida and around the nation that want to highlight their support for the right to bear arms, the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. |

The anti-gun movement is compelling. How could you not be when your entire argument is based on saving human life? Their objective is noble; however, their reasoning has flaws. Guns dont simply exist to allow crazed murderers to take innocent life they are the great equalizers for a civil and law-abiding society. |

The year 2020 is going to rank as a very important one for Second Amendment supporters. The 2020 elections are going to be very high stakes. Then, there is that Supreme Court case heard earlier this month. That means that 2020 poses the potential for great danger and yet, there could also be great opportunities with regards to our rights.
The elections have obvious dangers and opportunities. The election, of course, risks seeing pro-Second Amendment lawmakers voted out. On the flip side, they can also be the chance to replace anti-Second Amendment lawmakers. If Second Amendment supporters are successful in the latter, then changes to bring things closer to the ideal become much more achievable. |

West Virginia's attorney general has joined a coalition of 21 state attorneys general asking the Supreme Court to strike down a Maryland gun law.
The group filed a brief with the Supreme Court that they say supports the fundamental right granted by the Second Amendment for citizens to keep and bear arms.
We must protect the right to self-defense both inside and outside of ones home, West Virginia Attorney General Morrisey said. The Second Amendment does not discriminate between the two. We urge the court to stand firm in protecting the right to bear arms as a fundamental right and one that extends beyond the home. |

Gary Crossfield, owner of CE Tactical off of Godwin Boulevard and one of 66 people who had signed up to speak the vast majority in support of the Second Amendment and becoming a sanctuary city said the councils resolution meant little.
I do appreciate the fact that you guys did a resolution, Crossfield said. That resolution did nothing for us. That resolution, all it simply said (is) youre going to do your jobs exactly the way youre still doing it, that gave no support to get these laws not to come into effect, not at all. It didnt band Suffolk together. It didnt fight these laws. All it did was say youre going to keep doing exactly what youre doing. |

The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on a spending bill on Thursday. They want to get the bill to President Donald Trump to sign into law before Friday. The goal is to avoid a government shutdown. The spending bill includes gun violence research funding, which is the first time in decades. But this is a divided issue.
They will look at the connection between domestic violence and gun violence, ways of reducing suicides by firearms and better ways of storing them to prevent them from getting into the wrong hands. But some are worried this research will be used politically. |

A former Texas police officer admitted to fatally shooting his girlfriend and their unborn child, reversing his not guilty plea, bringing a high-profile murder case to an end months before it was set to go to trial.
With his guilty plea, ex-Austin police officer VonTrey Clark, 36, will receive a lesser sentence of life in prison without parole as a part of his plea agreement. Prosecutors had sought the death penalty.
Clark fled to Bali, Indonesia, without permission to leave Travis County, and was fired from the Austin Police Department in July 2015. Indonesian police detained Clark in August on a visa-related issue, and federal agents extradited him back to the U.S. a month later. |

In 2000, Emory University history professor Michael Bellesiles published the book Arming America: The Origins of a National Gun Culture. The central argument of the book was that the culture of American gun ownership does not date back to the colonial era and, instead, emerged in the middle of the nineteenth century when technological advances made firearms more affordable. |
