The title of this article may seem curious, but there is a point to it. Consider the fact that assault weapon is an intentionally nebulous, malleable term created and promoted by anti-gun extremists with the stated intent of creating confusion. A weapon can actually be anything that is simply used to inflict damage or bodily harm. It can be specifically designed to be used as a weapon, but could it be the actual use of the item, not the design, that makes the ultimate determination as to whether it is, indeed, a weapon? |

The lethality of the 5.56 NATO/223 Remington rifle cartridge has been a topic of heated debate since its adoption by the US military during the Vietnam War. When fired from a 20 inch barrel, the terminal performance of the 5.56 is quite impressive, however problems arise when a shorter barrel length is used. |

When it comes to constitutionally protected rights, about the only one that is infringed upon for 18- to 20-year-old Americans is the right to keep and bear arms. Despite their adult status, these citizens are denied by the federal government their right to purchase a handgun from a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) holder until they reach age 21.

Last April Fools Day, a 61-year-old Miami man had a defensive gun usage in Florida City, Florida, which is certainly no surprise. Florida City was once considered the most dangerous city in the Sunshine State. The man, who did not want his name used in this story, was at a fast-food restaurant when he was accosted by an individual who he now believes was emotionally disturbed. The man was filling his water bottle at a soda machine when someone behind him said, Im from prison. Dont touch my food or Ill kill you. He quickly left the restaurant. |

The report, which uses data that covers approximately 20 years of unintentional gun deaths among kids, identified 1,262 firearm injury deaths among children under 18. Nebraska gun owners sued the Cities of Omaha and Lincoln on Monday after telling city leaders this fall that enacting new local gun-related restrictions risked violating a new state law and their constitutional rights. The Nebraska Firearms Owners Association filed district court lawsuits in Douglas and Lancaster Counties alleging the mayors of Omaha and Lincoln went too far in issuing executive orders prohibiting concealed weapons on most public property. |

Ive seen some real tragedies when it comes to uncleaned firearms stored for extended periods of time, even with a decent gun case. Im talking about a corroded mess that leaves behind a rusty gun outline inside the case like it was police chalk at a crime scene. Bone-Dri gun cases may finally have an answer for that, whether youre a hunter, collector, LEO, avid precision shooter, or just an occasional range visitor. Combining some clever moisture-wicking and desiccating technologies, Bone-Dri claims its gun cases act like portable dehumidifiers, no matter where you are. |

Ruger has introduced the first new generation of its venerable value bolt-action line that first hit the market over a decade ago. Ruger is no stranger to the hunting rifle game, having debuted Jim Sullivan's well-liked M77 line in the 1960s. However, as prices started escalating on these guns and with budget deer rifles like the Savage Axis and Remington 783 out there, the company followed up with the M77 with a more value-minded half-brother in the Ruger American line in 2012. Now, the time has come to update the design and Ruger has debuted the second generation of the American Rifle.
