"There's someone out there telling folks to buy guns illegally, and I think it's time we put a stop to it. He's directing contract employees to walk into gun stores, lie on the paperwork about who's buying the gun, and walk out after making a straw purchase."
"Even worse, he's bragging about what he's doing. He's holding press conferences to tell the world about what he's done, but so far law enforcement doesn't seem to be listening."
"Well, I think it's time we help out the ATF agents that enforce our nation's gun laws. We need to call their Illegal Gun Hotline at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (that's 1-800-283-4867) and alert them to this illegal firearms activity. ... and you want them to enforce the law." ... |

"Gun Owners of America is asking its supporters to what they can to prevent a "committed supporter of gun confiscation" from ascending to the top leadership post."
"'The real vote for killing gun control will occur on January 4, 2007,' GOA said in a news release."
"GOA said it is telling each and every House member -- including newly elected Democrats who supposedly support gun rights -- that it will count a vote for Pelosi as speaker as an 'anti-gun' vote."

"The biggest strength of Ohioans For Concealed Carry has always been the efforts of our grassroots members. The ability to mobilize that base to contact their legislators has been crucial for gun rights reform in Ohio. Similar actions have been widely credited with the waves of reform which have swept the country in recent years."
"Now, incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is reportedly making overtures to curb that sort of grassroots activism by establishing 'lobbying reform' to impose strict new regulations on such displays of free speech." ... |

FULL TEXT BELOW:
A 13-year-old Sparks boy was arrested for bringing to school a handgun and ammunition that he allegedly took from a relative's vehicle, authorities said.
A classmate at Swope Middle School saw the boy playing with bullets during class and notified a counselor through the school's Secret Witness program, Washoe County School District spokesman Steve Mulvenon said.
Mulvenon said the ammunition didn't fit the pistol and the boy told the principal he didn't intend to use the weapon he kept in his locker.
The youth was booked Wednesday into the Jan Evans Juvenile Justice Center on suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds and being a minor in possession of a firearm.
He could face expulsion, Mulvenon said. |

"The Ithaca victims of a burglary of a dozen guns, including assault weapons, sniper rifles and various other deadly weapons from their home were 'astonished' and 're-victimized' when one of the thieves (apparently known to the 'victims') was given a sentence of mere probation ('Ithaca man gets probation in gun case; victims incensed,' Dec. 7)."
"I, too, am astonished - not because justice does not seem to have been served, but at the fact that a private home in this small upstate city where I live has been housing over a dozen weapons whose main purpose is killing people. Mind you, not hunting or sporting guns, but guns intended for snuffing out human life. I cannot but wonder why these dangerous weapons were not under solid lock and key, why they were in our city anyway, and how these young, impressionable burglars became familiar with the existence of this stash in the first place." ... |

"In your paper's recent series on pistol licensing, although the list of licensed handgun owners may be public information, you made it much easier to access their names and addresses. Due to the content of your paper's editorials over the years, it is no secret that you frown on those who choose to exercise a portion of the Bill of Rights, and that you wish to make it more difficult for them to do so through your anti-gun advocacy."
"For example, characterizing the The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence as 'a nonpartisan group' is simply disingenuous at best, and untruthful at its core.
