Last week, the Department of Justice announced that it would soon be releasing a final rule classifying bump-stock-type-devices as machineguns under the National Firearms Act. These devices came to national attention in October 2017 after the horrific attack in Las Vegas. As multiple media accounts correctly pointed to at the time, there was overwhelming legislative support for proposals that went far beyond these specific devices and some that could have potentially jeopardized all semiautomatic firearms. Rather than sit back and watch a legislative over-reaction, the NRA asked Congress to let ATF review its prior determinations on bump fire stocks. |

Its the only one of its kind in a 15-mile radius, and RTSP co-owner and chief executive officer Rick Friedman recognizes the challenges that come with operating his shooting range in a state with some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. I would love to have the freedoms that everyone else enjoys, but Ill always be a Jersey boy Friedman, who co-owns the RTSP gun range, told LocalSource on Dec. 13. I want to change my home and I want my home to recognize the rights of other states instead of running away. If I leave, they win. |

Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux ripped the states sanctuary policies that made it possible for Garcia to be released from custody when he could not be held for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. |

In the modern age, Seneca is considered one of the stalwarts of Negative Visualization. Most of us would recognize the concept more readily as the What If? mindset; what if this happens? Then I will respond in this manner. It is the leading concept for being prepared both mentally and physically and, at its core, the centralized philosophical concept of personal defense. Without question, it also relies on the mind to be balanced and to be able to reflect on personal experience to temper experience against over-preparedness. |

As Venezuela falls into the abyss of economic collapse the economy has halved in five years, a contraction worse than the Great Depression or the Spanish Civil War a simplistic narrative in the American press has formed, which starts with the Chavez regime seizing control of the country in 1998. (The charismatic populist Hugo Chavez is, after all, the leader most Americans are familiar with when talking about Venezuela, as he made worldwide headlines with his 2006 UN speech where he called U.S. President Bush "a devil" while celebrities like Sean Penn and Michael Moore cheered him on.) |

When one considers the history of U.S. machine guns or automatic rifles, the first thought might not be that one was designed in France. But it happened. Years ago, the United States military once put its stock in the French-designed Hotchkiss et Cie Bent-Merci, made in 1909. The Bent was used by the French after the invasion by the German army in 1914 and was later adopted for use by the U.S. military. The design was manufactured in the United States by Springfield Armory and Colt Manufacturing. |

A man called the Flathead County Sheriffs Office to report men shooting shotguns at decoys. He thought they were on his side of the river. A dispatcher said it could be a hunting violation. An officer warned the owner of a greyhound that was running loose with a yellow Lab named Romeo. The caller who reported the free-roaming canines said the greyhound was biting other dogs through fences. The owner said the dog had been missing for a few days. |
