The truncated cone hollow point (TCHP) is a truncated cone bullet with a hole in the tip to promote expansion on impact and to boost the stopping power. The standard truncated cone is a smooth-feeding bullet with more penetration than your average round nose or soft point, due to the shape.
For penetration, the TC bullet type is a spectacular choice for semi-automatic pistols and rifles. If you add in the stopping power of the hollow point, youve got a bullet that will devastate a soft target if it impacts any vital area. |

The semi-jacketed soft point (SJSP) is another hollow point alternative bullet with an exposed lead soft point that gives very reliable expansion on impact, along with deeper penetration than your average hollow point.
You can usually find the semi-jacketed soft point with a copper jacket of various lengths and thickness to go with a lead core. Some manufacturers have this bullet in use with different materials, with a lead-like tip or other specialized components, so they can be used in regions where lead is banned. This particular bullet can be used for home defense, but you can also find them in rifle calibers for hunting. |

When you look up the term workmanlike in the Merrian-Webster Dictionary, one definition is competent and skillful but not outstanding or original. Given the leftward-slant of publishing folks these days, the dictionary company would probably be horrified to learn they just perfectly capsulized the Stoeger STR-9 pistol family.

The notion that members of an industry making and selling legal productsa sector whose consumers, in fact, have constitutional protections to own its productsshould not be allowed to advertise the sale of its firearms, its competitions or even its actual gun-safety and training courses, is continuing to percolate in various parts of America.

In mid-October of 2023, Judge Benitez, in a powerful ruling, took longtime activist Professor Donohue to task in Miller v Becerra.
John J. Donohue III is a lawyer and economist who has published numerous papers. Many of those papers were statistical studies about guns and crime. He is a professor at Stanford Law School. Some of his prominent papers dispute the findings of John Lott, who found an increase in the issuance of carry permits led to a decrease in homicides.

2023 was a momentous year for permitless carry gun laws, with the U.S. officially becoming a constitutional carry-majority nation this spring. The gun control lobby and their allies pledged to dismantle self-defense laws and the Second Amendment. That strategy has backfired. In 2021, there were 16 states with NRA Constitutional Carry. Just three years later, there are 27 states. Americans in 11 states stood with freedom and the NRA, NRA executive vice president and CEO Wayne LaPierre exclusively told Fox News Digital.

One trend I spotted at the 2023 SHOT Show was the increasing popularity of single-action, metal-framed 9mm pistols with double stack magazines. Staccato has built their reputation on that sort of pistol, Beretta rolled out a single action version of the iconic Model 92 pistol, Dan Wesson rolled out the DWX (for real), and Springfield Armory was showing off the new DS Prodigy. Polymer-framed, striker-fired pistols used to rule the concealed carry market, but lately, it seems all the cool kids are moving towards metal frames and manual safeties.
