Realizing that I had a certain staunch viewpoint, I decided to reach out to a few womens instructors to get their opinions on whether womens only classes are beneficial to students and if so, how they help.

Robyn Sandoval is the Executive Director for A Girl & A Gun, a womens only shooting group that promotes and provides female only classes and shooting events through local chapters. Sandoval acknowledged that not all women wish to engage in womens only classes but for the ones that do, female driven courses are extremely beneficial in helping women feel comfortable and learn how to shoot.

As we all know, even the best guns and gear don't do anyone any good if not paired with consistent practice routines. To aid our readers in developing skill-building drills, Skills Check Editor Ed Head, an instructor at Gunsite Academy, works to put together varied practice options that are designed to keep skills sharp, whether running rifles, pistols or shotguns. Here are five of his most-popular drills over the last year:

Lacson, a former PNP chief during the Estrada administration, said the logic behind his proposal to cancel PTCFORs is as simple as it is rational.

We have to change the mindset of the public as regards their attitude towards persons brandishing guns in public places. Thus, any person seen with a firearm will be presumed to have criminal intent and therefore should be apprehended on the spot or reported to the authorities at first opportunity, instead of presuming that that person is a policeman in civvies or a person clothed with a PTCFOR, he said.

And of course, the new restrictions on gun sales in the state of Washington that come with Initiative 1639.

Which pushes the legal age to buy semi-automatic rifles from 18 to 21 and holds gun owners responsible for safe storage.

This law in particular has hit a sour note for many people living in the Yakima Valley.

In the United States of America, the Second Amendment ensures your natural right to defend your family with the use of firearms. Some argue that keeping guns around children puts them at a higher risk than it protects them. This is why, for many, deciding to keep guns in the home is a big decision. Because while it allows you an incomparable defense option, it could also lead to your childs little hands on a deadly weapon.

NY: New York Times Proposes Controlling Legal Gun Ownership via Banks

The New York Times reviewed hundreds of documents including police reports, bank records and investigator notes from a decade of mass shootings, a Monday advocacy piece masked as investigative journalism from the newspaper of record claims. Many of the killers built their stockpiles of high-powered weapons with the convenience of credit.

That it's The New York Times ought to be all we need to know about where this is going. And unsurprisingly, their No one was watching claim is a lie. The high-profile credit card tie-ins to the maniacs responsible for massacres were for transfers that received a green light through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

The Ohio General Assembly has voted to override Gov. John Kasichs veto on, HB 228, a bill that would revamp the way the state handles self-defense cases in court.

The law shifts the burden of proof in self-defense cases from the defense to the prosecution. It had strong support from pro-gun groups, who said this would put Ohio in step with every other state in the country.

On Thursday, the Ohio House and Ohio Senate each voted with a two-thirds majority to overturn Kasich's veto.

Following Wednesday nights shooting of a man attempting to break into cars and homes in Central Lubbock, KCBD spoke with an expert about what Texas law says when it comes to protecting your property using deadly force.

Steve Farley is a handgun instructor and owner at Cornerstone Tactical Institute. Chapter 9 of the Texas Penal Code is the use of force in deadly force for the State of Texas... You have to explain that the conduct that you just used was immediately necessary to avoid becoming a victim of a particular type of crime.

Gun control advocates view 2018 as a turning point in their campaign to strengthen the country's gun laws.

They cite widespread success in passing laws through state legislatures. They're also buoyed by Democratic victories in the midterm elections, which flipped control of the House of Representatives. Another benchmark: In this election cycle, gun control groups outspent gun rights groups for the first time ever.

I am a fan of the 22 Winchester Magnum cartridge. It is a true chameleon cartridge. Like that underrated predator, the 22 Magnum comes in many forms and is surprisingly efficient at what it does. Designed as a rimfire rifle cartridge and an improvement over the venerable 22 LR cartridge for use against varmints.

President Donald Trump has gotten more judges confirmed to federal appeals courts in his first two years in office than any president in modern history. With 30 new circuit judges on the bench, and a dozen nominees pending in the Senate, Trump has more than made good on a campaign promise to reshape the judiciary.

These judges have lifetime appointments, but they havent wasted time asserting themselves on everything from gun rights and abortion to political speech and the power of federal agencies subjects at the heart of partisan battles leading up to their confirmation. Conservatives are thrilled. Liberals are dismayed, though unsurprised.

Along the lone street that runs across the village of Darra Adamkhel, there are shops that display firearms. Shotguns, revolvers, automatic pistols, snipers and even Kalashnikovs are carefully wrapped and preserved in plastic covers; more lethal weapons like rocket launchers and such can be found in the basement.

Darra's economy is driven by only one business the manufacture and sale of illegal arms.

A mere stones throw away from Peshawar, South Asias largest black market for hand-made replicas of deadly weapons dubbed the 'Disneyland for Gun Lovers' by international media has been operational for the last 150 years.

All of the response articles, including mine, praised the Ruben & Blocher article, and deservedly so. It is a major contribution to the scholarly literature.

My article, Data Indicate Second Amendment Underenforcement, did take issue with Ruben & Blocher's claim that their data prove that the Second Amendment is not underenforced in the lower courts. First of all, Ruben & Blocher have a broad definition of "success," which includes winning on a preliminary motion.

I was arrested for having nunchucks in New York. Im glad the law was overturned.

When news broke last week that a federal judge had ruled a New York law banning possession of nunchucks unconstitutional, I felt vindicated. You see, as a teenager growing up in New York City in the 1980s, I was arrested and thrown in jail for illegal possession of nunchucks. Really.

President Ronald Reagan famously said that Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. That is particularly true of our Second Amendment rights. The fact is, those who wish to enact an extreme anti-Second Amendment agenda have been working to reach the next generation of voters.

One of the many issues is the ease in getting an emergency protective order. Firearms have been confiscated for many unrelated problems, such as a DWI which resulted in weapon confiscations. Weapons have also been confiscated from people exercising their First Amendment (free speech) rights only to have their Second Amendment rights arguably violated. Depending on the state, the laws vary and some allow employers, roommates, family, teachers, and of course law enforcement to request the protective orders.

A state Senate proposal that would require officials to investigate a persons social media history before deciding whether to issue or renew a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver has drawn unanimous opposition from St. Lawrence County legislators.

Its very intrusive into our personal and private lives, said County Legislature Chairman Kevin D. Acres, R-Madrid.

Law-abiding citizens have a constitutional right to own and use firearms. Im a gun owner and take my son shooting. A brief background check to prevent the purchase of a gun by someone who has forfeited their right to own a gun, such as a convicted felon or dangerously mentally ill person, does not violate anyones Second Amendment rights.

A silver lining of Democratic control of the House is that they may pass background check legislation. This could boost momentum for Senate passage of my bill, which I wrote with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.), to extend background checks to cover all commercial sales, including those made at gun shows and online. Congress should finally come together and enact our bill.

However, Hammond pointed out that there is a real danger with "Red Flag" gun confiscation orders, which, as a result of a government complaint or just an angry "ex" a "secret court" can be convened to determine whether a United States citizen can be stripped of his or her constitutional right to bear arms.

"A lot of conservatives have been duped into [believing] that this is the sort of gun control that conservatives can support, the Second Amendment advocate explained. And so that I think is going to be a central battleground."

There's lots of chatter out there about the legal problems with the bump stock ban, including conflict with the Second Amendment, taking of private property without compensation, and more. Gun Owners of America announces that it will soon file suit to challenge the bump stock ban. The NRA first encouraged President Trump and the BATFE to come up with a ruling about bump stocks, but now says it is disappointed in the ruling.

Legislation for the arming school personnel will be painful. Obviously, the school districts dont want to do it and neither do most police agencies.

But, when a Nikolas Cruz is roaming the halls of a school, could an armed teacher make things any worse?
