Bennifer anwers ESPN Page 2's 10 Questions, including a grilling on his application for a Georgia gun permit. Bennifer could have hit a home run with this one, but of course he played up the hollyweird line and simply stated he shoots clay pigeons. Didn't mention that he doesnt need any permit in Georgia for a shotgun ... and that what he got was a concealed firearm license. Oh well ... his movies still suck. -------
"10. You recently applied for a gun permit in Georgia. Are you a hunter?"
"What I hunt are pigeons, but they're the clay variety. And let me tell you something: Those clay ones are tricky. A lot of clay ones have gotten away. I don't hunt live animals, but I do some target practice -- and mostly skeet shooting, clay pigeon shooting. Which is a lot of fun."
Here's a better response -- one this weenie could have given if he wasn't such a PC chump:
"Well, it's like this. I'm responsible for defending myself and those around me. I shouldn't have to get a so-called 'permit' because we have a Second Amendment, but I did it anyway. And let's be real clear: if anyone attacks me violently, I'm going to double tap him to the chest to make sure to stop the attack. Any other questions?" |

Parts of Patriot II have been signed into law -- on the same day Saddam Hussein was captured, a move to avoid public debate. -------
"On December 13, when U.S. forces captured Saddam Hussein, President George W. Bush not only celebrated with his national security team, but also pulled out his pen and signed into law a bill that grants the FBI sweeping new powers. A White House spokesperson explained the curious timing of the signing - on a Saturday - as 'the President signs bills seven days a week.' "Two men say they were robbed at gunpoint and then were forced to sit along a curb. They say the suspects acted like Chicago police officers."
"The two were identified Saturday as Harvey Deputy Marshal Kevin Jones and Ford Heights police officer Michael Miller. Jones is being held on $90,000 bond and Miller is being held on $100,000. A third man, Johnnie Page of Chicago, is being held on $250,000 bond because he is a convicted felon."
"The suspects were convincing." ...
"Chicago police say Jones, Miller and two others had been working security Christmas night at a nightclub that was forced to close early. "The lack of safety features in many guns in America poses a serious risk to gun owners. Many have been wounded or killed when their guns accidentally discharged or were unintentionally fired because of manufacturers' safety omissions."
"Gun makers have been allowed to decide what safety features, if any, to use on their weapons because no federal agency can set standards for firearms manufactured in the country. Not only have gun makers ignored long-established safety options, but they have been slow to embrace new technology." ...
Etc., etc., ad nauseam. -------
1) Intelligent gun owners know when our firearms are loaded, and we treat them like they are always loaded. We only point a weapon at something we are willing to destroy, and we don't let untrained children at our firearms. That's just common sense. "Anti-self-defense extremists are often confronted with the question of why Ohio should resist concealed carry reform, since 45 other states have it in some form or another (including every state that borders Ohio). They are fond of responding that since Ohio's crime rate is already lower (than, say, Michigan), there is no need for these reforms. Chief Wolfgang said "He's certainly well respected in the community, he's a wonderful ambassador for the city and the police department."
While authorities continue to piece together exactly what happened late Tuesday night, they do know one thing for certain, the weapon of choice used by the suspect. It was a semi-automatic machine pistol. Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings says incidents like these only confirm the need for better gun control. "I'm a strong proponent of doing whatever we have to do to get the message out that if you violate the laws relative to carrying an illegal weapon then you should go to jail." -------
A) WTF is a "semi-automatic machine pistol"?
B) How much gun control does the state need? After all, a near-complete handgun ban doesn't do it, and the dreaded "semi-automatic machine pistol" is surely banned, right? Ah. Yes. Double Ban them. FULL TEXT BELOW... -------
Northern Territory police are reminding the public it has two more days to take advantage of an amnesty on firearms and commercially made slingshots.
A total of 61 weapons have been handed in during the firearm amnesty, including six handguns and a semi-automatic rifle.
Eighteen slingshots, one machete, a sword and nine replica handguns have also been surrendered.
The slingshot amnesty started on December 1 after changes to the Weapons Control Act.
Police warn that in the new year, people caught with commercially made slingshots face fines of up to $44,000 or a two-year jail term.
QUESTIONS:
What kind of government would threaten people with such lengthy jail time and hefty fines if they refused to turn in a mere slingshot?
What kind of a person would turn a firearm or even a slingshot in to that kind of government? |

"After Mr Mann was taken by the saltwater crocodile, two friends, Shaun Blowers and Ashley McGough, clung to a tree for 22 hours while the crocodile menaced them below." ... -------
From that close, even a decent handgun load will penetrate an alligator's brain when you hit him between the eyes. And if he's "menacing from below" for 22 hours, chances are good he'll expose that portion of his head eventually. But if you carry a firearm in much of Australia, chances are good you're going to jail if you get caught. The armed, bodyguarded "leaders" in government would rather you hang around in a tree for a day while mourning your friend who just got eaten alive. THAT is what gun control is all about. |

This is a UK reporter exploring the US air marshal program, picking it apart in obvious opposition to the looming air marshal program in the UK. -------
"The rapid expansion of the service triggered a torrent of leaks from marshals, blowing the whistle on problems that ranged from the serious to the frankly comic."
"The service was pressured to hire as many as 800 new marshals a month. Specialised training was cut back, leading to complaints that budding marshals were being passed despite repeatedly 'shooting' pretend flight attendants during drills."
"In the early days of the programme, problems included a marshal who lost his gun in flight and two others who left ammunition clips on planes. Overzealous marshals drew guns to quell mere rowdiness, triggering at least one lawsuit." ... |

Gun violence in Britain has gone up over 435% since the Socialist/Labor/Democrat Idiotcabal disarmed the British Populace by fiat and enabled the criminals to operate uncontested.
It appears that they should stick to arresting innocent law abiding people. Much safer since (unlike crazed criminals) most of them are unarmed. |
