... "Here's one sure way to tell if the CYA higher-ups are serious: Will they dare help prosecute their allegedly wayward underlings, and risk them telling what they know? Or will they just point fingers down the ladder, all the while insisting no crimes have been committed, and counting on that to keep those being blamed (but not prosecuted) from lawyering up and spilling their guts?" ...

"The New York Times, or as SayUncle calls it, the paper of making things up, ran a story on Monday asserting that 1% of North Carolina concealed handgun permit holders had been convicted of felonies or misdemeanors. They didn't break down the number of felonies versus the number of misdemeanors as that would lessen the impact."

"While America is finally rolling back gun control laws and liberalizing the permitting process, Mexican citizens continue their descent into gunless, lawless hell. The video above chronicles a particularly egregious attack on innocent civilians, caught in the crossfire between rival narco-terrorists. There are hundreds more involving tens of thousands of victims. And how does the Mexican government respond? El Heraldo de Chihuaha reports that the Powers That Be have launched a . . . wait for it . . . gun buyback program . . ." ...

"President Obama keeps pushing for gun control. 'I just want you to know that we are working on [gun control]. We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar,' President Obama told Sarah Brady, the former president of the Brady Campaign, this past spring."

"His push as been quiet but relentless."

"Just this past week Obama signaled that he was going to just ignore two new parts of the 2012 Omnibus Spending bill. Although he signed the spending bill into law, he simultaneously issued a so-called 'signing statement,' a note that presidents have started attaching to legislation stating how they interpret the law they are signing or whether they believe part of it is unconstitutional." ...

"In 2010, the NRA took quite a bit of heat from conservatives for endorsing a number of Blue Dog Democrats as many faced difficult re-election bids. Some won, some didnt. And of course, the GOP would still win the majority despite the endorsements but I remember hearing the comment that the NRA could single handily[sic] be responsible for these two words: Speaker Pelosi."

"And the NRA paid no attention to how a member voted for Speaker; they said on many times they were a single-issue group only concerned about direct Second Amendment votes. That is how many Pelosi-backing Democrats got their endorsement. This included Travis Childers and Gene Taylor." ...

"Since I started testing the Gen4 Glock 21, I've had more than a couple of emails asking 'why pick a .45 ACP' instead of a different caliber. The short answer is that I like shooting CDP, which requires a .45, but the longer answer is a bit more complicated."

"When I decided to do Project CDP, it was after having shot quite a few IDPA matches in 2011 in CDP as well as quite a few USPSA matches in L10 and Single Stack using a single stack gun. "Earplugs are idiot proof. Sometimes, I feel like an idiot. By the transitive property, I should be using earplugs always. Sometimes, you need the ability to be selective about what you hear. Like that time Nick Leghorn spotted nine pigs on the run before I did. Thankfully, I had my brand new Peltor headset cranked to 11. This is my first foray into the world of electronic earmuffs and I have to say that I am impressed."

"Are people with concealed handgun carry permits a menace to society? According to The New York Times, the answer seems to be 'yes.' An article in yesterday's Times by Michael Luo collects some anecdotes about misbehavior by a few licensees in North Carolina. While the Times article has some numbers in it, the Times article strangely omits a number which is obviously essential for readers to make a judgement: how many people in North Carolina have concealed carry permits? The answer, is 240,000. So what the Times managed to conceal from its readers is that ... of North Carolinians with a concealed carry permit, far less than 1% have ever been found to have violated the law in any way ..." ...
