"Terry Smith lives with a bullet lodged in her left lung, the victim of a New Year's Eve tradition in some cities of firing guns into the air at midnight."
"This year, she is staying inside."
"I feel vulnerable, even if I'm two feet in front of my door," said Smith, 27, a single mother of two who was hit as she watched fireworks from a New Orleans church rooftop last year. "I don't want to be outside, I don't want my children outside or my family outside." ~~~ I stay inside, too. |

"Bloody handprints still marked the door where three women - one shot, one stabbed and one horribly shaken - sought the help of neighbors after a violent home invasion in Mattapan early yesterday."
``We were scared to open the door,' said Delcia Benoit, whose family awoke to sounds of a struggle in the third-floor apartment above them about 12:45 a.m."
"Instead, the Benoits called police..." ~~~ So much for love thy neighbor. I'da been there, helping. |

It's good, from time to time, to see how CNN is spinning things:
"...Weapons-shy Canada..."
NOT HARDLY.
"The applications are coming in in a steady, strong stream..."
THEN WHY DID YOU EXTEND THE DEADLINE? LIAR.
"But law enforcers, concerned with an increase in crime involving guns, said a national registry was a good idea."
SOME OF THE MAJOR LEO's DO NOT SUPPORT THIS CRAP.
And more assorted caca del toro from CNN, as usual. |

ATF won't tell us what the gun was, of course -- but they of course name the gun and manufacturer that was USED. And some of the misinformation on this page is laughable. ANYONE who knows guns knows better. |

Defying the Pope's support of self-defense, this lame-brained idiot who thinks he speaks for God brings us simplistic nonsense in an editorial where we also find the following:
"When madness and evil are armed with shotguns, bombs and homemade grenades, it will take more than the PR spin of a Washington lobbyist group to convince the nation that there is no relation between slaughter and weapons. Guns must be controlled." ~~~ Come and pick 'em up. Meet ya at the front door. |

"A San Antonio, Texas-based attorney has proposed forming a coalition of interested parties to address military-voter disenfranchisement in the wake of a class-action lawsuit filed on behalf of service members who did not get to vote Nov. 7."

Ms Phyllis Schlafly hits the bullseye again.
The story behind the Million Misguided Mommy Marchers in DC.
The anti-gun moms pretended to model themselves on Mothers Against Drunk Driving, but those mothers are smart enough to go after criminally reckless drivers, not against automobiles. The anti-gun moms either aren't smart enough to see that kids are killed by criminals not by guns. |

There really wasnt very much brilliance here," said IPD homicide Det. Michael A. Mitchell about the four suspects.
The intruder pointed his handgun at the homeowner who fired his shotgun, putting a deer slug through the intruders chest from 10 feet away, Mitchell said. The intruder was knocked to the floor, then tried to crawl to the handgun that he had dropped and took a second deer slug through the back.
This gunman will harm no more. |

"The state Court of Appeals on Friday ruled unconstitutional a law allowing judges to impose harsher sentences for criminals who use guns while committing a felony, citing a U.S. Supreme Court decision involving a New Jersey hate crime statute."
"The decision overturns a seven-year prison sentence..."
"The court ordered that Eric Earl Guice be resentenced and that the five-year term added to his prison term for using a gun being dropped." ~~~ Good. Crime is crime. A tool is a tool. |

"A Bergen County sheriff's officer is accused of flashing a loaded pistol at two motorists during an apparent road-rage accident that happened while he was off-duty."
"Michael Alvarez, 39, of Englewood was charged with aggravated assault in the Wednesday incident and released on his own recognizance." ~~~ Cops should be held to a higher standard. After all, they are paid to be responsible gun owners. |

"The choices for handgun buyers will drop sharply on New Year's Day because of a new state law requiring safety testing."
"As of Thursday, only 202 of the 500 or so handgun models had been certified by the state Department of Justice. Dealers, many of them furious about the law, will be barred from selling the other models until they meet the mandate." ~~~ Claire Wolfe said it's too early to shoot the bastards. But that was a few years ago... |
