ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. - Authorities in North Carolina said a 15-year-old male was seriously hurt after his father, a police officer, shot him in the head.

No one tracks these shootings nationwide, so the AP collected media reports and surveyed agencies across the country through public records requests. {emphasis added}

A new Rasmussen poll showing Joe Biden has lost ground among likely U.S. voters for his handling of crime and law enforcement issues helps explain the continued interest in private gun ownership, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

According to Rasmussens survey, 51 percent of likely voters give Biden a poor rating for his ability to handle rising crime. Back in July, 48 percent of poll respondents gave the president bad marks on this subject. Rasmussen revealed 77 percent of Republicans and 56 percent of Independents rate the presidents handling of crime and law enforcement issues to be poor.

Owners of a Kansas City area gun range accused of discriminating against a Muslim woman by not allowing her to shoot while wearing her hijab say the business will not apologize for its safety policy.

A statement issued by Frontier Justice in Lees Summit on Wednesday said the sporting venue created its dress code upon its opening in 2015 and the business stands firm that its policies are not discriminatory. Concerning the wearing of a hijab, the statement presents a possible scenario in which the hot brass shell casing discharged from a firearm could wind up trapped in cloth and lead to someone being accidentally shot on the range.

They have thrown their lot in with angry mobs of gun-toting anarchists. These highly armed influential and unsavory groups have put them in power. Now the tables have turned, and the dark money groups are calling the shots.

So many GOP legislators are beholden to these dangerous groups. Just look at the about-face Missouri candidate for U.S. Senate Eric Greitens made regarding the Second Amendment Preservation Act after being scolded by some guy on a YouTube rant. Maybe if we finance around-the-clock security for GOP lawmakers and their families, some of these elected leaders will find the will to come to their senses.

The Atlantic County Prosecutors Office has partnered with Stockton Universitys Production Services Department and the Brigantine Police Department to produce a video that explains how to file an extreme risk protection order through the Acting Atlantic County Prosecutors Office.

The Extreme Risk Protection Order Act of 2018, also called a red flag law, provides the procedure for family members or household members who may be victims of domestic violence or in extreme risk from another person causing bodily injury to themselves or others.

It wouldnt hurt to just ask Dr. Oz a few questions and hear him out while vetting him. If youre not happy with him, there are other candidates running in the primary.

Now, some unrelated issues may disqualify a candidate for office, even with a good track record on the Second Amendment. Liz Cheney rapidly comes to mind on that front. Adam Kinzinger has resolved the conundrum he created for Second Amendment supporters by retiring. Good riddance to him, and hopefully, we will be able to say the same to Liz Cheney. It should take a lot to reach that point. This will be a big question for Second Amendment supporters to answer in Missouri vis--vis former governor Eric Greitens.

Several other states are working to pass Constitutional Carry bills. Here are states and possibilities for Constitutional Carry in 2022.

After Potter Verdict, Should Alec Baldwin Be Worried?

After all, there has been plenty of discussion about Baldwins alleged mishandling of a single-action revolver, and how it discharged, killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza on Oct. 21.

If Potter was negligent in mistaking her semiautomatic sidearm for a taser carried on the opposite side of her duty belt, wouldnt Baldwin be equally negligent for not carefully checking his prop gun to determine if it was truly unloaded or if there were blanks or live ammunition in any of the six chambers?

Public officials in Fairfax County are spreading the word about Virginias red flag law to prevent gun violence, which some leaders worry too few residents know about.

The General Assembly passed the red flag legislation in March 2020, which took effect the following July. Since then, police in the Commonwealth have temporarily seized firearms from individuals deemed a threat to themselves or others, a tool that officials say is crucial for averting gun violence.

You work in a pawn shop. You step out of the shop to run an errand at four in the afternoon. That is when three people approach you in the parking lot. They are armed. They tell you to give them everything you have. That is interesting because one of the things you have is a concealed firearm on your hip. You present your gun and shoot your attackers. They shoot back as they run away. The news report doesnt mention if you stayed in the parking lot or if you went back inside the building to call 911. You are not injured.

Evidence indicates that concealed carriers are among the safest and most law-abiding people in the nation, committing crimes at an even lower rate than police officers. Meanwhile, the threat of violence against defenseless students, many of whom are being denied the right to carry, is all too real.

In New York City, Columbia University student Davide Giri was killed near his campus in a stabbing attack earlier this month. The Manhattan borough president noted that this happened just blocks away from where another college student, Tessa Majors, was robbed and stabbed to death in 2019.

FPC Brief Argues Banning Non-Violent Criminals From Firearms is Unconstitutional

In 1995, Bryan Range was convicted in a Pennsylvania state court for making a false statement to obtain food stamps assistance, a class one misdemeanor. And under that conviction for a non-violent crime, he not only served no time in jail, but he made restitution for the crime. Range has been a peaceable citizen since, has been gainfully employed, and a family man, but because of the conviction twenty-six years ago, he is unconstitutionally banned forever from possessing and protecting himself and his family with firearms, a fundamental right protected by the Second Amendment.

In 2021, more Nevadans purchased firearms to take safety into their own hands than ever before. Its too bad state lawmakers responded by passing legislation that criminalized custom gun makers and their customers. Thankfully, it didnt stick a Nevada district judge nullified key parts of the law earlier this month. As we head into the New Year, lawmakers should spend less time trying to strip law abiding citizens of their Second Amendment rights and focus instead on fighting actual crime.

Gun thefts from parked cars in Kansas City have increased 19% this year and police blame the relaxation of state gun laws.

In 2021, 613 guns were stolen from vehicles, compared with 498 in 2020, Capt. Sean Hutcheson said in a presentation to the Kansas City Police Board on Dec. 14. Police know the weapons are being used in crimes, he said.

One of the drivers of our violence in Kansas City is easy access to guns, Hutcheson said. And since the early 2000s, a lot of our gun laws in the state have been relaxed. So people are more likely to be carrying guns and especially in their vehicles.

A group of robbers didnt fare so well when they decided to rob a concealed carrier in Tampa yesterday.

A 32-year-old man was in a park in Tampa when around 4 PM, a group of individuals tried to rob him. Unbeknownst to them, he had a Florida Concealed Handgun License and his gun, which he drew and fired at the suspects. There are no reports on how many shots were fired.

At least one suspect was hit and died on the scene. The victim and remaining suspects fled the scene before the police arrived. It is ok to leave the scene of a self-defense shooting if you are still in fear of your life. The police found the victim at another location and brought him to the hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
False is the idea of utility that sacrifices a thousand real advantages for one imaginary or trifling inconvenience; that would take fire from men because it burns, and water because one may drown in it; that has no remedy for evils except destruction. The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crime. Cesare Beccaria, quoted by Thomas Jefferson
