Naturally, the person who is carrying a concealed pistol is concerned with crime as part of their personal defense. You don�t want to be robbed, and you don�t want anyone else to be robbed either. You don�t want any violent crime to happen to you or anyone else, and you carry in order to put a stop to it in case it does happen.

The suspect in an armed robbery who was shot in the head by a customer at a south Wichita gas station died at the hospital, police said. Wichita police did not identify the person who was killed, but said in a Saturday news release that he was a 16-year-old male. The customer who shot him has not been arrested.

Some Republican lawmakers in Arkansas say they will push to expand gun owners� rights when the Legislature reconvenes next month. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that some Democrats are pushing back with a proposed law that would allow for temporary seizure of weapons from people deemed dangerous to themselves and others.

Illinois gun owners are rushing to the nearest gun shops before the new year. It's all in an effort to renew their concealed carry permits before they expire in 2019. Back in 2013, lawmakers in Illinois passed the Firearm Concealed Carry Act. Permits are only good for five years so now early applicants are preparing to apply for renewal for the first time.

Lawmakers have filed a hunting safety bill ahead of the first day of session. Here in South Carolina, anyone born after June 30th 1979 is required to take an educational course in order to be properly licensed to hunt.

As hunting season finally concludes, many deer hunters are happily stocking their freezers with this year�s yields. Were they lucky this year? Maybe. Had a sharper eye? That�s possible too. Investigators believe a father who shot his son in Wayne County acted in self-defense. According to District Attorney Brent Cooper, the incident happened around 2:20 p.m. The investigation began when 47-year-old Greg Bratcher called 911 and reported that he shot his 25-year-old son Jansen Bratcher.

The Second Amendment Foundation, along with the Calguns Foundation has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to review their challenge of California�s restrictive �Unsafe Handgun Act� that allegedly violates the Second Amendment by prohibiting the sale of handguns that may be commonly owned and are perfectly legal in other parts of the country.

Among Illinois' 250 or so new laws for 2019 are a pair of hotly debated new gun laws. A shooting at a Waffle House in Tennessee in April drove one of Illinois' new gun laws for the new year. Travis Reinking is from Tazewell County, he had a history of mental illness, but got his guns back, and went and killed four people.

One hunter claims �everyone is saying how bad a year is� while another boasts of unheard of success. Numbers don�t lie. The 2018 deer hunting season has ended and preliminary figures from the Department of Environmental Conservation show that this year�s deer harvest is up, by a lot in some cases.

A 28-year-old Bradenton man who attempted to enter a home illegally on Friday night was shot by the homeowner in self-defense, the Sarasota County Sheriff�s Office said.
The victim was identified as James Jarvis of Bradenton, who detectives say left a bar Friday after 1 a.m. and, at about 2 a.m., attempted to enter a home through the back door in the 2800 block of Mayflower Street.
