"Caitlin Halligan is Obama's nominee for a seat on the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. She formerly served as Solicitor General for the State of New York from 2001 until 2007 under then-NY Attorney General Elliot Spitzer. Her nomination is being filibustered in the Senate due to her leftist views on abortion and gun rights. Tomorrow, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is calling for a cloture (end of debate) vote on Halligan's confirmation."

The latest culprit is Timothy Egan of The New York Times, author of 'Gun Nuts in a Rut', published Thursday:" ..."Though he had said nothing about gun control in the campaign, Obama, to a certain kind of person, appeared to be a grave threat to the Second Amendment. " "That 'certain kind of person' would be anyone with an I.Q. above room temperature who had been paying the slightest bit of attention, because Obamas actions as a legislator spoke volumes about his feelings on the gun issue. ..." ... |

... "... the successful loosening of Missouri's suppressor laws, along with the Michigan Attorney General reinterpreting state law as not restricting suppressor possession beyond federal law, perhaps indicates a significant change in attitudes regarding suppressors. That possibility may be what has perhaps motivated the NRA to challenge the status quo, as seems to be indicated by this NRA article from a couple weeks ago:""It's time that policymakers--legislators, wildlife commissioners and gun club board members--move to eliminate the laws, regulations and policies that discourage or prohibit suppressor use. ... Suppressors may not be for everyone, but that's the best aspect of freedom--it is your choice" ... |

"How should you feel when one of your favorite guns, an American classic that had served cowboys, lawmen, deer hunters and recreational shooters for over a century, simply vanishes from store shelves? "Its no secret that the gun and ammo industry uses the fear of gun control to goose sales to a frightened customer base. As Barack Obama prepared to take office, for example, rumors began spreading that he was about to issue an executive order banning handgun sales and even banning sale of ammunition, which then led to shortages of ammunition on the shelves, which was then cited as evidence that the ammunition ban was coming true."

By middle school, non-automatic weapon training. By junior high, automatic weapons, and by high school other weapon training so that by college they can be ready for all the terrorists and bogeymen in New Hampshire." ... -------
Submitter's Note: How about we just teach the kids age-appropriate gun safety starting in preschool.
