Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen led a coalition of 26 attorneys general in opposition to the Biden administrations shocking and unconstitutional attack on Americans right to keep and bear arms that could criminalize law-abiding citizens for selling a single firearm for profit unless the seller obtains a federal license.
The attorneys general submitted a formal comment letter Thursday to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) regarding its proposed rulemaking, Definition of Engaged in the Business as a Dealer in Firearms. |

Three people were killed and another injured in a mass shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on Wednesday.
The shooter, a former college professor in his 60s who reportedly had applied for a job at the university, was killed in a shootout with police. Further details about his motive and the gun used in the attack were not immediately known.
The shooting was one of several hundred mass shootings this year, and it took place not far from the site of the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, in which 58 people were killed and hundreds others injured at a Las Vegas music festival in 2017. |

The Office of the Attorney General filed a petition for a rehearing en banc in the case of Maryland Shall Issue v. Wes Moore, in which the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ruled unconstitutional Marylands law requiring most citizens to obtain a license before acquiring a handgun.
On November 21, 2023, a divided three-judge panel of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 that Marylands law violated the Second Amendment. Attorney General Brown is asking for a rehearing of the case en banc, which means that the case would be heard again before the full 15-judge appellate court. |

Here in southeastern and south-central Missouri, were very blessed to live in an area thats home to some of the best hunting found anywhere in the state. While we always set out hoping for a successful day, what makes hunting really special is that its an opportunity to spend time with friends and family, making memories well never forget. But as we know all too well, this proud and cherished tradition is constantly under attack by those on the Left, whether theyre trying to ban guns, ammo, or even hunting in general. |

Firearms were the No. 1 killer of children and teens in the United States last year, having overtaken motor vehicle accidents as a leading cause of death, according to Logan-Greene.
There have been a number of highly successful public initiatives such as safer cars and safer car seats, and mandatory seat belt use, that have kept kids safer in motor vehicles, Logan-Greene explains. We cant eliminate motor vehicle deaths, nor will we be able to eliminate firearm deaths for kids, but gun deaths are increasing for children.
And its because there is so much backlash against the analogous public health measures that might prevent gun violence. |

Its been a dreadful year for mass shootings in the United States. As my colleague Clarissa-Jan Lim noted, after some back-to-back shootings over the weekend, the Gun Violence Archive has recorded "38 mass killings involving guns this year, defined as shootings in which four people or more are killed, not including the shooter." |

Fresh off of winning a razor-thin one-vote majority in the state House of Delegates in the last election, Virginia Democrats have shown where their priorities lie by making an assault weapons ban the second measure introduced for the upcoming session beginning in January. Identical measures in both the House and SenateSB2 and HB2would ban many common firearms used for a number of lawful purposes, along with commonly owned standard capacity magazines that come stock with many firearms purchased. Philip Van Cleave, president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL), said the bills being introduced so early says a lot about anti-gun Democrats priorities this session. |

Usually, when I write, it concerns Software Engineering. This morning though, while thinking about how AI will affect my industry for years, I wondered whether the two biggest tools out there ChatGPT and Google Bard, could communicate sensibly with each other. Given that AI has been a hot topic all year, I thought Id ask them to do a little debate with each other.
The topic is Gun Control in the United States because I wanted to see how these tools would handle a very hot issue. Its something thats been debated long enough that these tools would have been trained on material discussing this issue. |

When a threat is not a threat, its not a threat. Its. Not. A. Threat. As armed citizens, that means the end of a self-defensive situation, and we cant continue on and play the role of police.
A surveillance video from a gun store has become critical evidence against an employee who claimed he acted in self-defense when he shot a fleeing suspect in the back in mid-2022.
The incident occurred at Carters Country store in Houston, located at 11878 South Wilcrest Drive. On June 21, 2022, 58-year-old store employee Mark Winger shot and killed 36-year-old Terry Evans, Jr. Winger is now facing murder charges. |

Recently weve heard a lot of claims and counter-claims about modern rifles. We can call them modern but these guns are not new. Honest gun owners use them every day. Occasionally, some criminals use them as well. About one-out-of-eight gun owners have a modern rifle. As wed expect, rifles are used in armed defense about an eighth of the time. |

The man in the photo was identified, and the police visited him at his residence. There are no reports of what transpired, but he was not arrested or charged since open carry is legal in Tennessee.
FOX13 spoke with the man, who explained he had been getting stalked walking home from work, so he armed himself with the rifle for self-defense. His employer, a local bakery, fired the man after seeing the local news story stating they didnt want a firearm that large being stored at their business. |

I just introduced the Gas-Operated Semi-Automatic Firearms Exclusion (GOSAFE) Act. Our legislation addresses the inherently and unusually dangerous characteristics of the gas-operated firearms, high-capacity ammunition magazines, and conversion devices that are fueling our nations alarming rise in mass casualty shooting events.
The GOSAFE Act specifically targets firearms that were originally designed for the battlefield. It regulates the sale, transfer, and manufacturing of these firearms based on the lethality of their internal mechanisms, as opposed to focusing on cosmetic features that individuals or gun manufacturers can easily modify. |

The U.S. Supreme Court heard a case in early November that could challenge lawmakers ability to regulate firearms for persons under domestic violence restraining orders. The case poses far-reaching implications for gun control and domestic violence prevention in what is becoming a landmark legal battle.
Over 12 million U.S. adults are the victims of domestic abuse every year, according to the National Domestic Violence Hotline. The U.S. Supreme Court will now decide the constitutionality of disarming [Ed.: alleged, uncharged, & un-convicted] abusers under the Second Amendment. |

I'll bet those guns were readily available, too. Many shootings wouldn't occur if guns were properly stored. If an intruder breaks into your house and confronts you, he isn't going to wait for you to run to your safe, unlock it, load your gun and meet him at the OK corral, or the living room. So those unintentional shootings, homicides and suicides are more likely because the guns are handy.
It certainly doesn't make me feel safer knowing armed people are all around me with loaded guns in their pockets or purses. And what could be creepier than seeing someone in a local store walking around with a gun in his holster or an assault rifle across his chest? Open carry is legal in Washington. |

Every day on the news, horrific reports of gun violence flash across the screen. In offices across America, the latest mass shooting is a simple conversation topic with your morning cup of coffee. An issue of this severity should not be so common that we are desensitized. Guns were created to protect and defend, but it is a deadly error when this powerful object ends up in the wrong hands. |
