Shelby Township police are investigating the robbery of a gun shop in the early morning hours of Dec. 1.

Security video revealed three suspects wearing dark clothing broke into the rear entrance of Patriots Ammo & Arms on Van Dyke Avenue south of 24 Mile Road at about 4:20 a.m. The suspects took several firearms, according to Shelby Township Capt. Jason Schmittler, who wouldn't reveal how many weapons were stolen or what type of weaponry was removed. He did say most of the weapons were listed as handguns.

Nuri Yousif, the owner of Patriots Ammo & Arms, said the suspects got past two security gates and a double deadbolt on the back door. Yousif said it appears they used a battering ram to get in.

The first person to have his guns confiscated under Floridas 2018 red flag law has been found guilty over his refusal to voluntarily surrender the weapons.

Smith owned an AR-15 rifle and a .22-caliber rifle which Broward deputies seized after his arrest in March 2018 on charges of firing six shots at a vehicle being driven by his best friend, according to reports.

Submitter's note: Very confusing article. Were his guns seized because of chargers related to his arrest? If he was arrested, his guns were not seized because of a red flag law.

U.S. Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida was put on lockdown early Friday morning as shots rang out in what would be the second mass shooting on a stateside military base this week.

According to The Associated Press, three were killed and 12 more injured when an aviation student opened fire on his peers during a classroom training session.

The shooter, who has since been identified as Saudi Arabian national Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, was quickly neutralized -- not by U.S. Armed Forces, but by two Escambia County Sheriff's deputies during a standoff which ensued following law enforcement's rapid response to the attack.

Why on earth would the sailors on base require local law enforcement response, you might ask?

The county is going on record as supporting Second Amendment rights, but dont call it a sanctuary. On Thursday night, the Surry Board of Supervisors passed its own version of the resolution that has been sweeping through counties across Virginia since last months legislative elections. However, Surrys resolution stopped short of calling the county a sanctuary as those passed by others, including next-door Sussex County and Dinwiddie County, declared themselves.

Some great shotguns escape mass notice. Maybe theyre ahead of their time, or theyre not heavily marketed, or maybe they were overshadowed by other models. Whatever the case, some really good guns remain under the radar forever. Ive been thinking about that this fall, as my companion in the field has been a Blaser F16, a terrific field O/U that hasnt made much of a dent in the U.S. market yet. That seems to be its fate, and the fate of several other excellent guns past and present, all of which (well, maybe with the exception of number 3) are well worth ferreting out and adding to your collection. Here are eight overlooked shotguns: three currently in production and five no longer being made.

He hopes kids will come in with their parents to learn about how to handle a firearm.

For many deer hunters, the opening day of firearms deer season is the most highly anticipated day of the year. Most hunters would agree that opening day is their best chance to bring home the venison. The increased hunting pressure of opening day is also the signal for deer to go into survival mode and move quickly into their safe areas. Success on opening day is important, as the opening-day harvest numbers account for a large portion of the total annual deer harvest.
