Attorney General Bill Lockyer yesterday publicly banned a handgun that failed new state safety tests. The move was the first of its kind under a new law designed to curb the availability of cheap handguns. The action probably would have remained confidential, however, if Lockyer had not suspected the company attempted to rig its tests.
--So they say... Don't you feel "safer" already? |

Tucker declined to discuss the substance of the conversations, first in a meeting with Ashcroft and his senior staff, and then in a private session on classified issues. |

Representative Gilman has introduced H.B.223, The Lifetime Carry Bill. BUT-- House Criminal Justice Committee Chairman, Representative David Welch stated that H.B.223 is "dead on arrival" and he's angry that a State Representative would have the gall to introduce legislation that protects your gun rights and restores your right of self-defense.

President Bush's says that states should get federal money for enforcing tough disciplinary rules, & there should be funds for character education. "We must face up to the plague of school violence, with an average of 3 million crimes committed against students & teachers inside public schools every year."
But the 'plague' is more myth than reality. Despite what many believe --partly because of statements by national leaders-- schools are among the safest places for children to be. |

SB20 has been introduced in the Nevada Legislature, and is currently in the Senate Judiciary Committee. It recognizes CCW permits from any other area while visiting Nevada and removes the current 2-gun limit on CCW permits.
Please do your part to help ensure passage of this bill. Email the committee members. Be polite, but firm. Tell them that you support the bill, and it may make a difference concerning your travel plans to Nevada. |

"There is clearly no threat to hunters' rights that I can see," Wieneke said. "Hunting is a privilege, just like driving a car, not a legal right."

It's not about guns, but is about freedom - of expression, in this case. Bonsaikitten.com is clearly a parody site, and I do not want my tax dollars wasted on going after a few people with a weird sense of humor. ~~~~~ KABA Note: As stomach-turning repulsive as this site is, what does the FBI have to do with it? |

Hamiltons attorney ... suspects that the truck driver was coached on what to say at the Hamilton trial."
Gee, no prosecutor would drop a reckless driving charge to jam a woman with a CCW, right? |

Dr. Jeremy Blanks slices, dices, folds, spindles, and mutilates the ACLU's contradictory practices, especially regarding the 2nd Amendment. ~~~~~ KABA Note: There are some ACLU Chapters that do NOT take this stand, and are strongly pro-Second Amendment, and their National stand can be changed, if we get involved! |

Chicago Sun-Times columnist Mary Mitchell laments that there are few places where she feels safe. This editorial starts out like an anti-gun diatribe, but if you perservere while reading it, you'll see that it isn't what it appears to be at first. |
