The Baer Solutions Standards is a less commonly seen drill than something like The Test or the Bill Drill. That being said, it still maintains a fair level of popularity. This is especially the case in circles like those who follow Lucas Botkin and GarandThumb, who have collaborated with Baer Solutions in the past. What exactly goes into shooting this drill? |

Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) issued the following statement in response to Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascns letters sent to credit card companies asking them to stop processing payments for select firearm parts, which are legal to purchase under federal law:
When the law isnt on their side, tyrants will attempt to strongarm the private sector into doing their authoritarian bidding for them. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascns latest attack on Second Amendment rights, this time coercive requests to credit card companies to stop processing payments for all purchases of gun parts, is a prime example of such an authoritarian approach to regulation. |

The Constitution is specific when it comes to our right to defend ourselves. The words boldly declare, The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
The fact that I will defend that right is an important distinction between myself and politicians like President Joe Biden , who said from the White House in April of last year that, with regard to the Second Amendment, no amendment, no amendment to the Constitution is absolute. These are the words of a politician with plans to chip away at the Bill of Rights. |

Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Beto ORourke on Tuesday said that he has no interest in taking assault weapons from gun owners, apparently backing away from a position he took during his campaign for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
Speaking to reporters in Tyler, Texas, this week, ORourke said that he wants to defend the Second Amendment, but argued that the states gun policy should be driven by law enforcement. He also hammered Gov. Greg Abbott (R) for signing a bill into law last year that allows Texans to carry handguns without a permit or training. |

The indictment of Terry Turner on first-degree murder for the death of Adil Dghoughi is raising questions about the parameters of self-defense claims in Texas.
Turners attorney told KVUE they will be claiming self-defense for shooting Dghoughi for being on his driveway. But criminal defense attorney Rick Flores said its not that easy.
Certainly you can use force if someone got onto your property, but it doesnt allow for the use of deadly force, he said. |

The Smith & Wesson Model 586 is clearly no joke in terms of its stopping power and self-defense capabilities. But can this revolver handle more modern threats? Is it still relevant in 2022? No conversation about American firearms is complete without mentioning Smith & Wesson. The American gun manufacturer calls upon nearly 170 years of experience plenty of time to further develop their firearm designs. Indeed, Smith & Wesson offers a diverse lineup of both semi-automatic pistols, as well as rifles, though it is the companys revolvers that stand apart from the rest. |

A Missouri Senate panel on Thursday terminated a proposal one county prosecutor called the Make Murder Legal Act.
The official name of the measure is Senate Bill 666, which the sponsor, Sen. Eric Burlison, R-Battlefield, said he didnt choose.
Members of the GOP-controlled Senate Transportation, Infrastructure and Public Safety Committee failed to advance the bill out of committee on Thursday.
Burlison, however, told the Post-Dispatch that he could bring the measure back as an amendment to other firearms legislation hes sponsoring.
There are multiple ways to pass language, Burlison said. |

Gerald Wayne Marple Jr., who fatally shot Walter Ray Long Jr. on Dec. 30, wont be charged in Longs death.
Instead, a Frederick County Circuit Court grand jury on Thursday indicted Longs friend, 42-year-old Jeffrey Brian Smith of Capon Bridge, West Virginia, for second-degree murder.
In a written statement, Ross P. Spicer, county commonwealths attorney, said Marple legitimately feared for his life, fired in self-defense and accidentally struck Long, who was fleeing after seeing Marple reach for the rifle that was by his bed. |

A Catoosa Grand Jury has declined to indict a man involved in a road rage altercation on Sept. 6, 2021, that resulted in the shooting death of 34-year-old Jack Chandler Pedigo.
The Catoosa County Sheriffs Office investigated the matter and handed the case to the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorneys Office for review. District Attorney Chris Arnt continued the investigation and brought the case to a Grand Jury to determine if there was sufficient evidence of a crime to support criminal charges against the shooter. |

I owe my father full credit for inspiring this article. Years and years ago, he handed down the following wisdom:
SOMETIMES, YOU HAVE TO LEARN WHAT NOT TO DO.
Truer words were never spoken. Learning what not to dothe mistakes, pitfalls, and disasters to avoidis sometimes the best approach available to us. This applies in full to the world of self-defense and personal protection: theres a lot of misinformation out there. Im going to address some of it here so that you, the reader, can avoid becoming That Guy/Girl. |

Locke was not a suspect in the crime for which the warrant was issued and was not named n the document.
Many advocates say his case highlights the dangers of legal gun ownership for Black Americans due to racism and implicit bias.
Amir Locke, a lawful gun owner, should still be alive," said Bryan Strawser, the chair of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, a non-profit gun rights advocacy group, in a statement. Black men, like all citizens, have a right to keep and bear arms. Black men, like all citizens, have the right to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable search and seizure. |

Constitutional Carry, proposed Senate Bill 319 is one of the hottest topics on top of Georgia lawmakers debate right now under the Gold Dome.
If passed, it would allow Georgia gun owners to carry concealed firearms without having a state carry permit.
Georgians, both for and against the proposal, say safety is one of the key reasons for their thinking.
Georgia 2A for Second Amendment, a state-level gun rights organization, is in favor of Senate Bill 319. The proposal would permit Georgians to carry their firearms concealed without a state permit. |

The San Jose City Council voted by wide margins on January 25 to adopt two gun control measures not found anywhere else in the United States.
The first would require gun owners in the city to purchase liability insurance covering losses or damages related to negligent or accidental use of the firearm, including death and injury.
The second would further require gun owners to pay a gun harm reduction fee to a designated nonprofit organization. The City Council will set the fee and designate the nonprofit in a separate resolution. This resolution has not been introduced, but council members at the latest meeting suggested the fee could be $25 per year. |

Finally, the bill mandates that a law enforcement agency may use standard procedures for investigating the use or threatened use of force, but the agency may not arrest the person for using or threatening to use force unless the agency first determines that there is probable cause that the force that was used or threatened was unlawful.
The law enforcement community overwhelmingly opposes SB 666, including St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar, Oliver of Stoddard County, the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys, Missouri Sheriffs United, Missouri Police Chiefs Association and the Missouri NAACP. |
