The words of a rape victim - "If only I had teeth down there" - have inspired the design of a new anti-rape device.
Rapex - dubbed the 'rape trap' - is a product worn internally by women. The hollow inside is lined with rows of razor-sharp hooks, which are designed to latch on to a rapist's penis during penetration. They can only be removed by a doctor.

We now have another anti-gun Senator coming out in support of Acting ATF Director Michael J. Sullivan for Director. Illinois Senator Richard Durbin, who has an F Rating from the NRA and GOA, joins fellow gun grabbers Ted Kennedy and John Kerry in support for "Maximum Mike" Sullivan.
"I support the nomination of Mr. Sullivan, who is currently Acting Director of ATF. He has demonstrated a commitment to helping law enforcement agencies enforce the law."
Sullivan, who was recently a key note speaker at one of the largest gatherings of gun control organizations, has continued the ATF agenda of shutting down the firearms industry.

NRA-ILA alert:
"Four More Senators Send Letter to Secretary Kempthorne Requesting the Interior Department Change Its Policy Regarding Firearms in National Parks ... Together with 47 other Senators who signed a letter ... to Secretary Kempthorne on December 14, 2007, a majority of the U.S. Senate has now called for this policy change ..."
This is very good news. The idea of disarming all law abiding citizens in National parks with a useless gun free zone policy which criminals naturally ignore (by definition criminals ignore laws) has been a foolhardy policy that is long overdue to be overturned. All it does is set law abiding citizens up to be defenseless victims & is contrary to their right to bear arms in their own self defense. |

Even with families victimized in the Virginia Tech massacre looking on, lawmakers in Virginia lined up like clay pigeons for the gun lobby last month to block legislation that would have closed the states notorious gun-show loophole. That means that anyone ex-felons and deranged citizens included can continue to buy firearms at laissez-faire sportsmen shows.

All of the cities are liberal democrat controlled and have insane gun laws. Somehow Washington DC is missing and I question that. My hunch is so the list could have a city from S.C. on it. |

Idaho may have won the hearts of gun manufacturers, but it still needs to win their minds.
During a two-day visit earlier this week to the Shot Show in Las Vegas - the world's largest gun show - state and regional economic development officials met with gun makers to learn more about the industry, and to convince them that Idaho is a good place to do business.
What they learned was that Idaho may be gun friendly, but that it takes more than good will to create a manufacturing base.
Idaho in recent months has launched on an economic development strategy that plays on the state's pro-firearms legal and tax structure.
Why the new emphasis on attracting gun makers? The $2 billion-a-year industry has grown steadily since 1986.

Barack Obama's mantra of change came through loud and clear in local races on Super Tuesday. Two of my "peeps" rode that wave big time. Voters in Illinois' 26th House District booted out incumbent Elga Jeffries and ushered in Will Burns, an Obama protege and longtime legislative staffer who prevailed with 33 percent of the vote in a five-way race. Jeffries' vote against Illinois House Bill 758 was the beginning of her end. She was one of only two Democrats to reject the bill. Her critics suggest it was a nod to the gun lobby's largesse. Gun control, Burns' signature play, became "a huge issue" in the 26th, he told me the morning after the primary. It delineated the fault lines in the race. |

Today, more than 23,000 representatives of private industry are working quietly with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The members of this rapidly growing group, called InfraGard, receive secret warnings of terrorist threats before the public doesand, at least on one occasion, before elected officials. In return, they provide information to the government, which alarms the ACLU. But there may be more to it than that. One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to shoot to kill in the event of martial law. |

For Rob Vance, UCSB alum and Co-Founder of the campus Gun Club, long-range rifle shooting is a lot like yoga. It requires you to focus, and you block out all of the other problems and distractions on your mind, Vance said yesterday at the groups Winter Rifle Shoot. Its a great way to relieve stress. The shoot drew some two dozen UCSB students to the Winchester Canyon Gun Club to hone their skills firing at targets on the WCGCs 100-yard range. |
