"I don't have any problem with the concept of imposing lengthy sentences for which there is no parole," Judge Weatherby said." I just have a problem with the constitutional separation of powers." Prosecutors have a problem with the fact that the law doesn't apply to manslaughter, yet does to a lesser offense of aggravated battery. Legislators "may" consider changing that in the future. |

"I wonder what they would make of the fact that some people have lost so little faith in their ability to govern themselves that they view background checks and reasonable waiting periods for guns as an imminent threat to their freedom? Or the fact that gun violence has gotten so out of control that it is being called an epidemic?" YOU CAN CONTACT TONYAA AT: www.jacksonville.com/jax-cgi/feedback/feedback.cgi?weathersbee |

According to liberals, women require special protection by the government, so as to secure their right not to be discriminated against. Of course, this implies women are currently discriminated against by men and are unable to get others to respect their rights. But this liberal view of the "helpless little woman" sounds a bit patronizingly sexist, doesn't it? Wow! |

The FBI has dressed its online wolf in sheep's clothing, changing the name of its controversial email surveillance system, known to this point as 'Carnivore'. A spokesman for the FBI denied that the name change stemmed from worries that the name made the system sound like a predatory device made to invade people's privacy. But the Illinois Institute of Technology recommended that the name be changed for just that reason. |

We're all safer against gun-toting criminals if we stay unarmed and just give them what they want, right? More gun laws would help, right? This woman got blasted in the face with a shotgun (that was apparently stolen 5 days earlier) for only having $7 on her.
Would the anti-gun, anti-self-defense, anti-responsibility, anti-rights extremists have suggested she carry more cash and have the police on speed-dial? Or should she have utilized effective self-protection tools? |
