But on Thursday, the Washington House passed a bill supported by those opposing advocacy groups to centralize gun-purchase background checks under the Washington State Patrol. House Bill 2467 passed 66-32, and now heads to the Senate for consideration. Every House Democrat but one supported the bill, along with 10 Republicans.

If you have never heard of a 32 gauge shotgun, youre not alone. Most shooters, especially in the U.S., either have no need for or no knowledge of this elusive gun and its ammunition. Made by American manufacturers until the 1930s, 32 gauge quickly became obsolete due to its similarities with 20 gauge, 28 gauge and the .410. This is why the very rare 32 gauge is sought after mostly by collectors and those looking to shoot something out of the norm.

Glocks have a legendary reputation for both reliability and durability. This makes them very well-suited for a wide variety of tasks ranging from casual plinking and competition shooting to law enforcement and military use. Because of these attributes, the black polymer pistol quickly became one of the most prolific handguns in both America and abroad.

Though today the name Mossberg is most associated with shotguns, for more than a century the company has manufactured everything from handguns to hunting rifles. It got its start, however, with .22-cal. firearms. The company, founded by Swedish immigrant and former Iver Johnson employee Oscar Frederick Mossberg, started in 1919 with the unique, four-barrel, .22 Long Rifle Brownie pistol and followed soon after with the Model K slide-action .22 rifle. Beginning in 1930, Mossberg introduced a line of utilitarian, single-shot, bolt-action rifles designed to meet the needs of the average American living through the Great Depression.

On given day, a half-mile north of the Ten O'clock Line in rural Parke County, in a workshop not much bigger than 8 feet by 28 feet, you'll find Sam Gorham, working on a handcrafted longrifle. Using tools he mostly made himself, and aside from the rare use of a drill press or a hand drill, using hand tools, Gorham creates masterful longrifles that feature ornate carvings and unique patterns.

The incredible population of snow geese in North America is a concern to many, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Habitat depredation caused by too many hungry birds is threatening their summer breeding grounds on the tundra near Hudson Bay. Canada geese are also prolific breeders that cause extensive damage to crops, especially in the spring. Most farmers I know hate Canada geese because of how they devour emerging seedlings.

Even the American Civil Liberties Union agrees with the NRA that red flag measures trample on our due process rights. An ACLU analysis of a red flag bill in Rhode Island concluded, People who are not alleged to have committed a crime should not be subject to severe deprivations of liberty interests, and deprivations for lengthy periods of time, in the absence of a clear, compelling and immediate showing of need.

The recent Iowa Democratic Caucus has gone off about as smoothly as a sheet of 24-grit sandpaper. Only 71 percent of results were initially reported nearly two days after the caucuses were held and there are still very few concrete answers, mostly questions remain. South Bends former Mayor Pete Buttigieg appeared to be holding the lead, just ahead of Vermonts Sen. Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren rounding out the top three. Former Vice President Joe Biden trailed a distant fourth.

After nine straight months of higher industry gun sales, Sturm, Ruger (NYSE:RGR) should finally begin to see the effects of the improving market conditions when it reports fourth-quarter earnings on Feb. 20. There are also a few other factors that will play in Ruger's favor for the period, even though it's quite possible that on the surface, revenue and earnings might not look as strong as industry statistics would indicate.
