One year into the coronavirus pandemic, on the heels of a year full of civil and social discord surrounding civil liberties, social and racial inequality, and heated political debates it might come at no surprise that there has been little improvement in the supply levels of firearms, ammunition and supplies.
Randy Brown, owner of Randys Hunting Center in Bad Axe said with high demand continuing and little to no inventory across the nation, he has been left to scramble to meet the needs of his customers spread across the country.
I got home last night around 2:15 a.m. from driving around trying to get enough stuff to open the doors today, Brown said. |

As we reported yesterday, Oaklands police chief LeRonne Armstrong held a media briefing about the arrest of a Good Samaritan who used his gun to thwart the assault and robbery of a woman outside his store. If there was ever a poster child for why the little people need self-defense insurance this police chief and his smarmy little grin is it.
The chief told the local media grinning all the while that We dont want people to fire weapons into our community. There could be unintended victims. The message was clear: dont resist bad guys who attack you because you could miss. |

The National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) applauds Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte for signing House Bill 102 into law. HB 102 is NRA-backed legislation that recognizes law-abiding gun owners' right to carry a firearm without first obtaining a permit.
On behalf of the NRA's more than five-million members, we thank Gov. Gianforte for his leadership in recognizing the right of law-abiding Montanans to defend themselves and their loved ones without being required to seek government permission," said Jason Ouimet, executive director, NRA-ILA. "The NRA will continue standing up and stepping forward to protect and preserve our most basic, fundamental freedoms here in Montana and across the United States." |

Today, the House held a second reading for House Bill 1369, to improve the ability of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their loved ones. This is further into the legislative process than similar bills advanced in previous years, and it is because of hard work from, and strong leadership by, Representatives Smaltz, Lucas, Lehman, and Wesco. Please continue asking your state representative to SUPPORT this critical bill that improves self-defense in Indiana. |

On February 23rd, the House Judiciary Committee will hear House Bill 3094, to legalize the open carry of handguns. Previously, on February 10th, the General Laws Subcommittee issued a favorable report to HB 3094 and advanced it to the full committee.
House Bill 3094 allows citizens who hold a concealed weapons permit to carry a handgun in the manner they choose. Currently, South Carolina is one of just five states that do not explicitly allow open carry, among them Illinois, New York, and California. Self-defense situations are difficult to predict and everyone has different circumstances. It is unreasonable for the law to impose a one-size-fits-all method of carrying a handgun for self-defense. |

Hendren has clashed with Arkansas Republicans on other issues. Hes the lead sponsor of a hate crimes bill that has drawn resistance from some conservatives and was the only Republican in the Senate to vote against a Stand Your Ground bill that loosened restrictions on the use of deadly force in self-defense.
Hendren's decision keeps him out of a GOP primary that has been overshadowed by former White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders candidacy. Sanders, the daughter of former Gov. Mike Huckabee, indicated she would lean heavily on Trump and his rhetoric with an announcement video vowing to fight the radical left. |

On Monday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will consider anti-self-defense legislation, Senate Bill 554. Please contact committee members and ask them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 554.
Senate Bill 554 will create new "gun-free zones" by giving authority to local governments, universities, and airports to prohibit concealed carry permit holders from carrying in local government buildings, colleges and universities (including their grounds), and airports (and grounds "adjacent" to all of these locations). |

You lower your firearm and call 911. You give the police a description of the intruder.

As promised, the 73rd Colorado General Assembly reconvened yesterday after taking a month-long recess due to COVID. It makes us wonder how much they are even needed if they can just recess on a whim.
On their first day back in session over 200 bills were introduced, 6 of them firearms related. We do anticipate more gun control bills to be introduced in the coming days, primarily a mandatory waiting period bill that would require a certain number of days between completing a background check and taking possession of the firearm, even if needed for self-defense due to an immediate threat. |

Today, the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider House Bill 2543. This measure removes an important failsafe during the background check process that could create an indefinite delay during a firearm purchase. This would give the government unlimited discretion to prevent someone from exercising their Second Amendment rights. Please contact members of the House Judiciary Committee and ask them to OPPOSE House Bill 2543. |

The presidents campaign trail claim of DNA-enabled smart guns is completely false. No one has introduced technology that would match a DNA sample to activate a firearm. However, attempts have been made at fingerprint-style authorized user-technology. Think of the way a fingerprint is used to open a smartphone. Now, think of all the times a smartphone wont open when a fingerprint is applied. A little wet, not the right angle, dirty, God-forbid bloody all these can cause a failure of the fingerprint lock to not activate the technology.

Somehow our Instagram is still up and running. With HR127 being brought forward, somebody tipped me off to a very small page where the phrase Second Amendment was being censored. So we tried to replicate what we saw with an experiment. First I posted a screenshot of the censored post, and it was fact-checked and censored behind the fact-check wall. Then I took a screenshot of the actual Second Amendment on Google and the same thing happened.
They were trying to tie it back to some misquoting of George Washington. They were saying the Second Amendment was fact-checked as not true. I'm not sure if it was caused by an algorithm or not, but it happened. |

2021 has seen the introduction of a large number of pro-gun bills in the Sooner State. A few of them are outlined below. It is important for NRA Members and Second Amendment supporters to stay active this legislative session. Stay updated through NRA-ILA Alerts, and at our website, www.NRAILA.org.
House Bill 1673, sponsored by Rep. Kevin West, allows for an individual to carry a firearm in the designated bar area of a restaurant as long as that person is not consuming alcohol. House Bill 2401, sponsored by Rep. Todd Russ, creates a restoration of rights process that will allow those convicted of nonviolent felonies, to reestablish their Second Amendment rights following a certain period of time with a clean record. |

Towns County Sole Commissioner Cliff Bradshaw and Sheriff Kenneth Henderson presented and signed a pro-Second Amendment (2A) resolution during the February commission meeting.
The Second Amendment Sanctuary movement patterned itself after the Sanctuary Cities for refugees. The first credited use of a gun sanctuary was in Effingham County, Illinois. The measures commonly reject the enforcement of federal or state gun laws and target regulations like red flag laws, universal gun background checks, and bans on assault-style weapons. |

According to sheriffs deputies, they found 34-year-old Jeffrey Gregg with a gunshot wound to the abdomen on NE 136th Ave east of Bronson.
Witnesses said Gregg got into an argument with neighbors earlier Thursday, making threats and firing warning shots from his gun into the air.
He later returned to his neighbors property with two knives.
He then stabbed two people.
One of them, Walter Seibert, pulled out a pistol and fired a single shot into his stomach.
Investigators said the shooting was an act of self defense. |

Alabama has received an F for its gun laws and is the fifth worst state in the nation for deaths from gun violence, according to a new national study.
The grading came from the Annual Gun Law Scorecard from the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, out this week. The ranking is tabulated comparing gun legislation in all 50 states, assigning point values to laws and policies based on their strengths or weaknesses. The center is a public interest organization based in San Francisco, founded in 1993. |

Exactly where are the limits? Thats always a matter of interpretation. The Heller opinion, written by the late Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, held that the Districts law prohibiting the possession of handguns was over the line, as was its law requiring residents to keep their lawfully owned, registered long guns unloaded and dissembled or bound by a trigger lock or similar device unless the guns were located in a place of business or in use for lawful recreational activities. |

Its a four-prong attack against firearms ownership in the country, Alan Gottlieb, the founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, said in an interview this. One is universal background check is really a universal registration system. Second is banning of assault weapons and then defining assault weapons as almost any semi-automatic firearm. Third is banning magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, you know, again, hurts people twice for self defense in our country, and then attacking the firearms industry so that any criminal that goes out and misuses a gun, the gun manufacturer can be sued for it, its going to put the industry out of business and nobody can buy a gun. |
