"In upholding an Alameda County, Calif., ban on possession of guns within county property -- an ordinance that effectively bans gun shows -- a three-judge panel nevertheless ripped into one court precedent and reduced to dicta a December opinion by 9th Circuit Judge Stephen Reinhardt. The latest opinions cement the court's place at the center of the debate over whether the Constitution confers an individual, rather than a collective, right to keep and bear arms." |

"One Sunday in 1994, my 15-year-old son, Kenzo, was at a friend's house, when the friend decided to show him his father's handgun. Without telling Kenzo what he was doing, the boy took out a clip that had bullets in it and put in an empty clip. That made him think the gun was empty. But the gun's design had tricked him. When he pulled the trigger, the bullet hidden in the chamber killed my son."
------- No, what killed your son was the failure of his friend's parents to supervise the youngsters around loaded firearms and the sheer carelessness with which the friend ignored basic safety rules of firearms handling. THE GUN IS ALWAYS LOADED The firearm was simply the tool by which that irresponsibility manifested itself that tragic day. |

Here's a Hollywood rarity!
"... I'm a libertarian, which to some people is akin to being a Scientologist, so Marty and I had some interesting discussions.'
"We had some nice people on that set who were politically very liberal. And gun control was always a strong issue with them. Well, then the L.A. riots come and these same people are calling me asking, 'Do you have any guns?' "
"And I said, 'I'd love to help you out, but they're all being used.' Those people, suddenly, really realized what it's like to be in that ghetto every day. It's just about survival. It's just about getting through the day. Any way you can do it, you do it. And suddenly that Second Amendment made some sense during that rough moment." |

"Although you stoutly claim to be a hunter, after reading your insane, anti-Second Amendment piece, we sincerely doubt that you are any kind of gun owner or hunter, since you clearly don't understand the mechanical differences between hunting weapons like a Remington model 1100 shotgun or Model 7400 hunting rifle, or a Browning Automatic Rifle such as the BAR Classic or Lightweight Stalker - and the ubiquitous semi-automatic assault weapon.
