The owner of Ricks Firearm Academy of Detroit, firearms instructor, and rangemaster, explained how his career began on the other end of the barrel roughly 20 years ago.

I was robbed at gunpoint in my driveway, previously I wasnt a big fan of firearms in general but I did have a 12 gauge shotgun at home for home defense, Ector said, It took two young men robbing me at gunpoint to give me an epiphany and I decided that instead of doing what a few of my neighbors did...

First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies understood the concerns but accused the film armorer of alleged sloppy handling of firearms. The district attorney also said there were other means of self-defense she could use.

The judge allowed Gutierrez-Reed to have a firearm at home for self-defense as a part of her conditions of release.

The New Mexico House of Representatives could vote as early as Monday on HB 100 by Rep. Andrea Romero (D-Santa Fe), legislation imposing a mandatory 14-day waiting period on all firearm purchases. Contrary to the authors claims, this legislation will not "enhance" the existing FBI background check process in any way; it will only delay your ability to exercise your Second Amendment right to defend yourself, your family and your property. Criminals do not adhere to a "cooling off" period. Please contact your State Representative and urge him or her to OPPOSE HB 100.

House Study Bill 173 ensures that law-abiding citizens are not deprived of their right-to-carry for their whole day just because they have to stop or park at a location where they are not allowed to carry. It allows adults who are licensed to carry firearms to drive onto school grounds to pick-up or drop-off their students without first having to unload and store away their firearms in their vehicles. It also specifies that employers shall not prohibit employees from lawfully carrying, transporting, or possessing firearms and ammunition if they are out-of-sight in private vehicles that are locked and parked in areas where employees are allowed to park.

Reports that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had been caught red-handed deleting defensive-gun-use statistics from its website at the request of anti-gun partners have led to congressional action.

This story was broken by Stephen Gutowski at The Reload. Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA), he received a series of emails showing that three gun-control activists worked closely with CDC officials to remove references to criminologist Gary Klecks important 1992 study that showed Americans use firearms for self-defense up to 2.5 million times a year.

Gun owners saw right through the faade when House Speaker Paul Renner threw a press conference at the end of January to celebrate introduction of the constitutional carry bill.

On the one hand, it does go a long way in restoring the rights of our residents and visitors alike to carry arms in public for self-defense without a permit. On the other hand, the bill falls short of every constitutional carry law in the country by quietly omitting the right to carry openly. So our leaders are trying to appease one side and fool the other.

Building on the success of recent years, another state is approaching the passage of constitutional carry, which would mean that over half of the states in our country would have some form of constitutional carry.

The South Carolina House recently voted 87-26 to pass H.B. 3594, the states constitutional-carry legislation. The bill recognizes the right of law-abiding adults to carry a firearm for self-defense without having to first pay fees or obtain government permission, while also increasing penalties for criminals caught with firearms, as reported by the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (ILA).

If you live in the USA, there are a few species that will always pose a threat when you go hiking. Both black and brown bears can easily kill a man, while cougars and wolves are also dangerous. You most likely cant outrun these animals, so having a firearm on you just in case is smart hiking preparation. The question is are 9mm handguns enough to protect you from these animals?

There are many shapes for a swimming pool. Ones that resemble a heart, diamond, kidney, or star, or are circular, rectangular, oblong, or L-shaped. You can have a lap pool or an infinity pool. Just name a design and you can have it custom-built. I dont know about you, but I have seen all of these shaped pools no big deal. But recently a friend of mine told me about an unusual-shaped pool. It is a revolver-shaped swimming pool. It is a really close replica of my revolver, a 1950s vintage Ruger Blackhawk Revolver.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms....The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Thomas Jefferson in a letter to William S. Smith in 1787. Taken from Jefferson, On Democracy p. 20, S. Padover ed., 1939
