Dear elected representative, I am Angie from Traverse City High and we are learning more about guns and school shootings and speaking our opinions about it and I guess we are now writing to you..
This gun situation needs to be brought up more in schools, anywhere it can influence a person to not do this type of thing. I remember in middle school we talked a lot about opioids and discussed almost every day. And have checkups on kids psychologically and do more studies to see the red flags for this behavior.
But don't take away guns. Its not the guns killing people; its the people killing people. The Second Amendment says we have a right to keep and bear arms so you cant really take away our guns.

The leader of a gun-control group decried efforts to sell firearms to minorities & women as "incredibly dangerous" Monday.
"Gun makers are softening their image to put a better face in front of people' & ramp up its appeal to women, children & members of minority groups,'" Igor Volsky, executive director of gun-control activist group Guns Down America, said in a tweet.
"That's right," Volsky continued. "Gun makers are increasingly advertising to WOMEN, CHILDREN & MINORITY COMMUNITIES. Firearm industry realizes that to survive into the future it must broaden its reach beyond the aging white men who have been core customers'and so they're now trying to sell their products to other demographics. This is incredibly dangerous." |

The Michigan House voted to affirm its support of the Second Amendment Tuesday, stopping short of naming Michigan a gun rights sanctuary but declaring its intent to protect the Constitutional right to bear arms.
House Resolution 227 states the Michigan legislature "will not pass laws that would infringe upon the ability of Michigan residents to own and keep firearms and will ensure that legislation in violation of our constitutional right to bear arms will not be imposed upon the citizens of Michigan by either the federal government or itself. Lawmakers voted 75-32 to approve the resolution.

The Alpena County Board of Commissioners voted 8-0 Tuesday to support a resolution that supports the Second Amendment and the publics right to bear arms.
The resolution is not the same one presented to the county by Second Amendment supporters last month and doesnt label the county as a sanctuary for guns.
The resolution is non-binding. All governments must obey the Constitution, and federal law trumps state law and local ordinances. |

The mystery only deepened as many of the nearly two dozen people who showed up at the meeting Wednesday said they didn't believe much of what Diggins had to say, even his claims to live in the North State and that he was a veteran.
"I think he's awful vague, secretive, covert and not very honest about his intentions," said Kevin Hamilton of Redding.
Diggins said he called the meeting to get feedback on his ideas to create a new State of Jefferson. He said the proposed state's economy would be based on a "military-backed crypto-currency."

The wet dream of Trotskys modern-day acolytes in Hollywood, in cinematic form, The Hunt, will be opening in theaters in March.
Watch as self-righteous progressives use weapons of war to hunt down and murder us Deplorables.
Curious that Democrat presidential aspirants all talk endlessly about fighting and fights, and being avid fighters, while simultaneously, and so piously, decrying gun violence, as they cautiously peer-out from between heavily-armed praetorian guards. |

A new bill at the Statehouse is looking to protect second amendment rights, according to Rep. Avery Bourne, R-Morrisonville.
The legislation filed by Rep. Bourne would amend the Firearm Dealer License Certification Act to get rid of what the sponsor calls a "duplicative state licensing requirement."
Instead, it would only require it for shops that have sold guns illegally in three or more crimes. |

Newark residents can now legally carry Tasers and other stun guns for their own protection.
On Monday, city council repealed a stun gun ban that the citys lawyer said does not meet constitutional muster in light of recent court rulings.
The law had banned the possession or transport of stun guns except in ones own home or business. The ban had been on the books since 2012, when council unanimously passed the law in response to the Newark Police Departments concerns about a person who had a history of using a stun gun at a local establishment. |

The first time I met Rich Lowry, editor in chief of National Review, was at a book party in a small bar in Midtown Manhattan in 2009. We shared the same literary agent at the time, and I came to meet the editor who, as only the third editor (after William F. Buckley Jr.) of the renowned magazine, had already done so much since taking the helm in 1997 to build the intellectual basis of conservatism.
When meeting even conservative media figures who work in New York City or Washington, D.C., I have often been surprised by how few have even fired a gun, so I didnt intend to put Lowry on the spot by directly asking if he shoots. |

The news is amazing and occasionally unpredictable. Yes, news can be predictable and still be called news, the same way the weather changes consistently but unscheduled ways. I want to contrast several political changes I saw last week. Some occurred because of easily identifiable actors, and some were unpredictable. As Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said, there are knows, unknowns, and unknown-unknowns.

Governor Pete Ricketts has come out strongly in support of people exercising their First and Second Amendment rights at the Nebraska State Capitol.
President Trump's use of social media outlets such as Twitter is serving as a template for other politicians to go directly to the people and around the coverage of the legacy media.
On 21 February, at the Nebraska Capitol, hundreds of Second Amendment supporters showed up to the Judiciary Committee hearing to oppose further restrictions of the right to keep and bear arms, particularly LB 816. |

Firearms measures are scheduled in for votes in the House and Senate this week, and were asking them to please, please pass these bills, for law enforcement, for all of our public safety, for the safety of our officers, for the safety of our community, Ballard said told reporters this morning. These bills are there to make it safe. |

Having a few too many drinks at home shouldnt make handling ones own firearm illegal, according to an Ohio man challenging his arrest on a charge of possessing a weapon while intoxicated.
The Ohio Supreme Court heard arguments in his case Tuesday, with a decision not expected for several weeks.
Attorneys for defendant Fred Weber say the 2018 arrest was unconstitutional because he was in his own home and the weapon was unloaded. |
