Police said that violent crime had erupted in the past year and particularly since September 11 when hundreds of officers were moved to guard security targets.

NYPD has learned that more enterprising criminals out there "may have figured out a way" to turn the popular steering wheel lock into a "rudimentary shotgun," according to an internal memo.
"Specifically, the handle of the device has been hollowed out to serve as a shotgun barrel," the memo says, going on to explain in detail how the modification is made.
The NYPD says it has not yet seized any Clubs that have been turned into shotguns. |

Last summer, about 1,400 drought-stricken farmers in the Klamath Basin got sucker-punched by "scientists" at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Marine Fisheries Service literally.
Their irrigation taps were turned off because "bureaucrats presumed" that any release of water would result in too-low water levels in Klamath Lake and too-slow flows of the Klamath River for the threatened salmon and sucker fish that reside therein. |

The militia is often discussed in the pro-gun foundation where I work. Usually Im on the other side of the fence arguing against its existence. Being young, maybe I just dont understand. Ive never felt the need to enlist into a military service that does not even exist in any measurable way. I even remember saying just six months ago Why do we need a militia? Were the leaders of the free world. Were the United States of America. - Jessica Mainard, Collegiate Programs Director, SAF |

The government banned Yemenis on Tuesday from carrying guns on city streets, and urged security officials to do all they can to enforce the prohibition.
Guns, ammunition and explosives are sold freely in Yemen, a largely tribal society where weapons are carried openly and people often settle feuds with guns. "The problem" grew during the 1994 civil war when many arms were smuggled into the country. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks. Thomas Jefferson, Encyclopedia of T. Jefferson, 318, Foley, Ed., reissued 1967. |
