Ill be the first to admit that I hate wearing earmuffs as hearing protection when on the range. In fact, if I hadnt viewed it as an absolute necessity, I probably wouldnt wear them. But muffs have always had the advantage of being the more budget-friendly option over the in-ear hearing protection. Being a frugal and, apparently, slightly masochistic person, Ive always opted for the muffs.

Floridas Senate President Wilton Simpson has only to snap his fingers and a constitutional-carry bill will appear on Gov. Ron DeSantis desk a bill DeSantis has already promised he would sign. Its that simple. Instead, Simpson, an alleged Republican from Trilby, is content to once again let constitutional carry die off quietly during the current legislative session, even though it would restore the God-given constitutional rights of millions of Floridians to what the Framers had in mind when they wrote the Second Amendment. |

The application deadline for a spring turkey license is February 16. For the third in a row, spring turkey hunters will have more hunting opportunities in North Dakota. Theres 7,647 licenses, and thats 635 more compared to 21. We increased in 10 units this year. We left 10 the same. We lowered in one, Unit 3 around Devils Lake and then Unit 21 down in the southwest, which is Hettinger and Adams County. Turkey population just doesnt support spring harvest down there yet, said R.J. Gross, North Dakota Game and Fish upland game biologist. |

Defensive shooters scoff at competition shooters calling them gamers and laugh at their tactics while the average competitive shooter can readily outshoot the average defensive shooter. Is there a compromise? How can you as a shooter seeking to shoot well, benefit from both worlds?

First produced in 1930, the .22 Hornet was developed by the Springfield Armory and is to this day an excellent cartridge for hunting varmints and predators. It has even been used in the U.K. for hunting deer with great success. The cartridge has mild recoil and good accuracy, with relatively low noise levels making this a great choice for hunting vermin in more populated areas.

From gun safes to defining "assault rifles," proposed gun control bills carried over from last year could be back before the Illinois General Assembly. One of the bills, Senate Bill 1855, would require gun owners to lock up their guns to prevent minors and people who are ineligible to have guns of their own from obtaining them. If the guns wind up causing injury or death, the gun owners would face a $500 fine and a criminal penalty. |

The firm has maintained that status by building solidly on a foundation of quality, lifesaving reliability and long-lasting value. Even the modern innovation it brings to its latest guns exhibit the kind of performance that silences todays critics. |

Federal law explicitly prohibits the creation of a federal firearm registry, but the Biden administration is making one anyway. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has collected nearly one billion firearm purchase records. The government has now created a searchable digital database containing 866 million of these transactions, including some 54 million made in 2021 alone. |

UPDATED, 2/4/22 @ 12 Noon, PST: Once again, while appearing in New York City to talk about the problem of violent crime, Joe Biden went off script and repeated a couple of canards for which he has already been skewered by the Washington Post Fact Checker.
About midway through his remarks, Bidena perennial anti-gunner during his years on Capitol Hilltold his Big Apple audience, Theres no amendment thats absolute, Biden insisted. When the amendment was passed, it didnt say anybody can own a gun any kind of gun and any kind of weapon.

President Biden reacted to surging crime numbers by pushing more gun control Thursday, and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) responded by tweeting that Joe Bidens crime crisis cannot be blamed on the Second Amendment.
Biden spoke about cannons, illegal guns, ghost guns, gun crime, and gun violence, among other things. He compared gun manufacturers to cigarette makers, seeking to open up gun makers to lawsuits, and described a Glock handgun as a weapon of war.
