"This legislation is to protect Idaho law enforcement officers from being directed, through federal orders, laws, rules, or regulations enacted or promulgated on or after January 1, 2013, to violate their oath of office and Idaho citizens' rights under the Idaho Constitution, Article 1, Section 11,' the bills Statement of Purpose explains. "In an ongoing poll conducted of its membership by Gun Owners of America, 96.2% of over 18,500 respondents have thus far opposed Obama's universal background check proposal."
"So many gun owners tried to register their opposition to banning private gun sales that GOA's server crashed, and many who were opposed this framework for a national gun registry were unable to cast their votes."
"In conducting the poll, GOA was careful to lay out both its arguments against the proposal, in addition to Obama's arguments in support of universal background checks. Yet, confronted with arguments for both sides, gun owners -- many in red states -- overwhelmingly rejected the universal background check provision." ... |

Its entirely possible that most people cant think about bad things happening to them; their brains are wired for 'Condition White.' The thought of a violent assault freaks them out. Even so, most people will take some steps to secure their home. The question is: how much security is enough and how much is too much? Burglar bars. Fires. Need I say more? What about people who leave multiple guns around the house? Here are three basic layers of home security that could form the basis for any goodbut not overly dangerousself-defense system . . ." ... |

"On the one hand, it does show that should push ever come to shove, Uncle Sam could certainly use the records of the big online firearm supply houses to figure out exactly which houses in each town are more likely to be trouble spots. On the other hand, without Midways email, Id have never have known about this recall ... On balance, I think the good outweighed the bad, but your mileage may vary." ... |
