Some Arkansas gunmakers are restricting sales to law enforcement agencies in states that have passed strict laws on guns.
Berryville-based Wilson Combat told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that it's refusing to sell weapons to law enforcement and state agencies in California, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington, D.C., and Chicago. The policy also applies to officers and state employees buying as individuals but not to nongovernment-affiliated citizens.
The movement is known as the Firearms Equality Movement.

The Police Loophole lists every company and links to the statements that each has released regarding their new policies.

In a radio interview with KVOR on Saturday, El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa said he received an email last week with a threat to stop or stall pay raises to the states elected sheriffs if they dont support Colorados pending gun control legislation.

He claimed it said the Democrats were threatening to delay legislation that would give the sheriffs a long-delayed pay raise if they continue to speak out against the new push for more gun control laws.

In the radio interview, Maketa strongly suggested that the pressure being placed on sheriffs organization bordered on extortion and should be investigated.

NJ: Former Newark Airport TSA screener says the job does little to keep fliers safe

... Here, a Newark TSA screener who recently left the agency tells how silly policies and lazy workers do little to stop real threats:
A LOT of what we do is make-believe.
Ive had to screen small children and explain to their parents I had no choice but to check them. I would only place my hands on their arms and bottom half of their legs, and the entire pat-down lasted 10 seconds. This goes completely against TSA procedure.
Because the cameras are recording our every move, we have to do something. If someone isnt checked or even screened properly, the entire terminal would shut down, as this constitutes a security breach.
But since most TSA supervisors are too daft to actually supervise, bending the rules is easy to do.

Gabby Gifford's husband buys AR-15

The nauseating hypocrisy of this guy is incredible. When caught red-handed by Breitbart, who tracked down a tip that Mark Kelly, former Rep. Gifford's husband purchased an "assault weapon," here's what the gun control advocate put on his Facebook page:
I just had a background check a few days ago when I went to my local gun store to buy a .45. As I was leaving, I noticed a used AR-15. Bought that too. ... I don't have possession of it yet but I'll be turning it over to the Tucson PD when I do. ...
We are to believe he bought the weapon just to turn it over to the police? Or is he turning it over to the police because he's been caught in a very compromising position that makes him out to be a dishonest, gun grabbing lout?

Mark E. Kelly, gun-control proponent and husband to former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, recently purchased an AR-15 (an "assault weapon," he called it)which he now says he intended as an illustration of the need for more stringent gun laws.
Kelly reportedly bought the AR-15 and a 1911-style semi-automatic pistol at a gun store in Tucson, Arizona.
Breitbart News received a tip on this when Neil McCabe, editor of Guns & Patriots newsletter, contacted us on March 7 and said:
Mark E. Kelly, made purchases which included an AR-15--sometimes described as an "assault rifle"--at 3:30 pm on the afternoon of March 5 at Diamondback Police Supply, 170 S. Kolb Street, Tucson, AZ.

Mark Kelly and his wife, former congresswoman Gabby Giffords, testified at the Colorado state capitol in support of more gun control for that state on March 4.
Democrats in the Colorado legislature are pushing "high capacity" magazine bans, bans on private firearm sales, new taxes on firearm sales, and a repeal of a law allowing concealed carry permit holders to carry a firearm for self-defense on a university campus.
They are also seeking to dissuade "assault weapons" ownership via SB 13-196, which allows "assault weapons" manufacturers to be sued for the illegal use of the firearms.

U.S. Sen. Max Baucus has been here before.
Back during the Clinton era, the Democrat faced a choice: support an assault weapons ban urged by a president from his own party and risk angering constituents who cherish their gun rights, or buck his party. He chose the ban, and nearly lost his Senate seat.
Now, as he begins his campaign for a seventh term, Baucus faces the question again. For weeks, gun foes have sought assurances he would oppose the assault weapons ban. But it was only this past week he said he would oppose it.

Zero tolerance for zero tolerance. Thats how one lawmaker feels about young children being suspended from school for forming their finger or food in the shape of a gun.
As Gigi Barnett explains, he has a bill designed to keep students in class if theyre caught.
State Senator J.B. Jennings says he does not intend for this bill to be a part of the growing gun debate in Maryland, but he does say he wants it to bring some common sense discipline to state schools.

An attorney for the man accused of killing Trayvon Martin says he won't need time in April for a judge to hold a separate hearing on Florida's "stand your ground" law.

George Zimmerman defense attorney Mark O'Mara said Tuesday that he hasn't yet made a decision on whether to file a formal motion for an immunity hearing.

Working the fundamentals carefully takes time, with the benefit of conserving ammunition.

Move back to 50 to 100 yards and work on your rifle skills. Go prone and take a couple of minutes to find your natural point of aim. Get in position, close your eyes and take some deep breaths. Open your eyes and see if your rifle is still on target. If not, adjust your body, not your rifle. Pivot your body around your navel to bring the rifle back on target. Repeat a couple of times until the gun is solidly on target each time you open your eyes.

But there is more to this story. For the statist these heroes' crime was taking responsibility for their own safety and the safety of another rather than passively doing nothing until a government employee took care of the situation. That type of mindset cannot be tolerated in the statist utopia. Their suspensions are not just punishment for saving another child's life. The suspensions are a warning to the rest of the students in the district who might harbor ideas of personal responsibility or self-defense.

Abel said this is not the first time Strain was involved in improperly seizing firearms.

In fact there is a permanent 2005 U.S. District Court injunction that prohibits Strain from seizing firearms legally-owned by residents of St. Tammany Parish, he said.

Feldman, a former police officer, said his request for a formal investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is ongoing and will uncover and document St. Tammanys long history of confiscation of firearms and abuses of process.

ME: A gun for every home? Maine town to vote on mandatory firearm ownership

Residents of a Maine town are expected to vote Monday on whether each household should be required to own a firearm, a decision that has thrust the tiny town of Byron into the heated national debate on gun control.

The vote is scheduled to take place on Monday evening in a potentially rancorous annual town meeting for the western Maine town's 140 residents and will be largely symbolic.

The town's head selectman says the vast majority of households in Byron already have at least one gun, and a requirement to possess guns and ammunition would be unenforceable because Maine law bars municipalities from legislating on firearms.

Heller argued that the District of Columbia's laws, which effectively banned handgun ownership, infringed on his Second Amendment rights. SCOTUS ruled 5-4 in favor of Heller, once again reaffirming the individual right to keep and bear arms. In the majority opinion, the court recognized that the Second Amendment was put in place to prevent disarmament of the citizens' militia, so that no "politicized standing army or a select militia" would rule.

Business was brisk at the Vermont Gun Show, which was held this past weekend at The Quality Inn on Putney Road.

The show brought together dealers from across Vermont, and at the busiest time Saturday there was a 30 minute wait to get in.

The mass killings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., last year brought the issue of guns back to the forefront of American politics and there continues to be passionate cries from both sides of the gun control issue.
