In Ohio, about one out of 18 citizens have a permit to carry a concealed firearm in public. That says quite a lot since a noticeable number of Ohio citizens are not eligible for a permit. Those statistics also hide a terrible truth. The concealed carry laws in Ohio disarmed over a million eligible adults. The results are exactly what youd expect after we denied the right of armed defense to law abiding citizens. |

To come up with a better revolver for city, county and state police officers, Smith & Wesson took their 3rd Model Hand Ejector .44 Special and chambered it for .38 Special in 1930. This was no ordinary .38. It was loaded heavier and renamed the .38/44 with a muzzle velocity of around 300 fps more than the standard .38 Special. Smith & Wesson offered two basic models of the .38/44, the fix-sighted Heavy Duty for law enforcement use and the adjustable-sighted Outdoorsman for hunters and target shooters. |

Momentum appears to be building to hold New York Sen. Charles Schumer, Senate minority leader and career gun grabber, accountable for remarks he made toward Associate Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and many believe it should have happened years ago.
Schumer, addressing a crowd of abortion activists, displayed the same demagoguery hes exhibited for years against the nations gun owners. Long story short, according to the senators critics, is that his My way or the Highway mentality may have finally gotten the better of him. |

Friday, March 6th, marked the deadline for all policy bills to receive a floor vote in the opposite chamber. Having failed to receive a floor vote, several anti-gun bills are likely defeated for the session. Unfortunately, a number of bills did receive a floor vote and were sent back to their original chamber for concurrence before heading to the Governors desk for his signature.

Charles touches on Joe Bidens heated exchange with a Michigan autoworker whom he accused of being full of s*** and what it might mean for Democrats. I think its oddly appropriate that within his string of non-sequiturs, Biden, a lawyer, bolsters the argument for his imaginary support of Second Amendment by citing one of the most egregious violations of the First Amendment in our history. |

In an otherwise short meeting, the Watonwan County Board held a discussion over whether to pursue becoming a gun sanctuary county, as the movement continues to gain traction in Minnesota. Bob Rinne brought up the point to the board, saying that some local people have begun to ask if it was something the county was going to attempt.

Friday the 13th could be scary this week in Vermont, but it doesn't have to be. Gun owners have another opportunity to help kill an anti-gun bill. This Friday is "crossover," a self-imposed deadline for bills to clear their house of origin. Bills which fail to meet this important deadline almost never pass. H.610 by House Judiciary Chair Maxine Grad is a terrible bill that deals with "red flag" and "default proceeds" on NICS checks which come back with a hold. |

The National Instant background Check System (NICS) checks for February 2020, have broken all the previous records for the month, with 2,776,380 checks. This signifies very little because more than half of the NICS checks are for carry permits and carry permit rechecks. Illinois and Kentucky perform hundreds of thousands of permit rechecks every month, skewing the system, which renders the total number useless for estimating gun sales. |

Eliphalet Remington founded E. Remington & Sons in 1816 in Ilion, New York. He began with a simple idea that has driven countless American entrepreneurs: Sure, there was no shortage of flintlock rifles on the market. However, Remington believed he could do it better. To that end, he built himself a flintlock rifle for a shooting competition. At the age of 23, Remington didnt win gold, but he did take the silver. |

Senate Democrat Party Minority Leader Chuck Schumers recent threat directed to two U.S. Supreme Court JusticesNeil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, both Trump nomineesis outrageous, shameful, reprehensible, and unforgivable, surely; and it deserves our Nations condemnation, of course. But there is something in Chuck Schumers actions more disconcerting and alarming than the rant itself: something below the surface that is both telling and dire. |

Dicks Sporting Goods said another 440 stores would no longer sell guns this year, as the company moves to purge firearms from its retail stores, reports indicated Tuesday (March 10). The retail chain announced the news in its quarterly earnings. The move aligns with Dicks resolution to reduce gun sales after the Parkland, Florida, school shooting in February 2018. The company pledged at the time that it would no longer sell semi-automatic weapons. Edward Stack, the companys chairman and CEO, said he supports stricter gun-control measure. |
