The pointed soft-point bullet is a popular bullet type used in dozens of lines of hunting ammo. Manufacturers range from cheap factories you might not be familiar with, to premium lines like the Remington CoreLokt. The pointed tip gives shooters a flatter trajectory at long ranges compared to the basic soft tip, and experienced long range hunters can appreciate any advantage they can get. |

The open tip match bullet (OTM) is primarily used as a target shooting ammo, hence the word match but what is match ammo? There seems to be a massive debate about this particular term (OTM), because it comes across as a hollow point when it's technically not, and it can cause some confusion. The military can use it because its technically not a hollow point, but some hunters cant because it is a hollow point. This is probably the most controversial term of any bullet currently in use today. |

The smallbore individual championship round did not start how WVU senior Mary Tucker wanted on Friday at the NCAA Rifle National Championship inside the WVU Coliseum.
Tucker found herself in eighth place, last, following the first series of kneeling shots, facing an uphill battle the rest of the way.
My kneeling position is really good and my hold is really good, but my brain doesnt trust it, Tucker explained. I was just kind of fighting with myself there and not letting myself take good shots, which is obviously not what you want.
The shooters took series of five shots in three positions, kneeling, prone and then standing. |

With Democrats calling it common sense legislation to get gun owners better educated, Republicans argued last week that the proposed changes to Colorado's concealed carry permitting process infringes on Second Amendment rights.
In its second reading on the House floor on March 8, House Bill 1174 mandates that all concealed carry permit training classes must be conducted in person with a curriculum to cover firearm safety, storage, state and federal gun laws, and self-defense and de-escalation tactics. Applicants must pass a written exam and live-fire exercise; renewals require a refresher course. |

Barnick hit 10.8 on the penultimate shot to take the lead and scored 10.6 on the final to clinch his first career individual national championship.
It was a tough final, Barnick said. Ive shot a lot against Braden, we grew up shooting against each other. It felt really good to win and to bring another individual championship title home.
Barnick finished with a score of 251.7, ahead of Peisers 251.2. Peisers final two shots were 10.1 and 10.5.
I was behind before the 10.8, so I took it as I gave myself a chance, Barnick said. |
