One of the Internet's leading search engines is refusing to sell advertising to firearms dealers or companies that sell gun parts or knives, though it will sell ads to pornographic sites.
-- An alternative to use is AllTheWeb.com. Their search database is bigger than Yahoo (who uses Google) and a lot eaiser to use.
I have no idea about their gun politics, but I found KeepAndBearArms.com through them. :) |

"Christopher Scaggs, 29, a police officer and former 911 dispatcher in the Philadelphia suburb fof Glenolden, faces a five-year minimum mandatory for crimes committed with a firearm and a maximum of 20 years in prison, said prosecutor Sherri Eyer."

As he awaits court action on a firearms charge, social service center administrator Adrian L. Ford said yesterday he will not dodge responsibility for leaving his loaded gun in his unlocked office.
Two sixth-graders are accused of stealing the gun and taking it to B.F. Brown Middle School.
�For 30 years I have been challenging people to take responsibility, personal responsibility,� Mr. Ford said. �I'd feel like a hypocrite if I didn't let people know how I really feel.� |

Local governments couldn't sue the makers and sellers of firearms and ammunition for damages resulting from those products' legal sale or manufacture, under a bill now in a House committee.
No such lawsuits have been filed to date by any Kansas counties or municipal governments -- and proponents of the bill want to make sure it stays that way. |

Senate Bill 938, sponsored by Senator John Cauthorn (R-18) and House Bill 1729, sponsored by Representative Frank Barnitz (D-150) have both passed committee and are now under consideration by their respective legislative bodies. |

Forty-eight of America�s best rifle-shooting athletes will meet this coming weekend at the 2002 NCAA Rifle Championships, on the Stewart Stadium Rifle Range at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.
Competition at the championships, to be held March 15 and 16, will be conducted according to rules published by the NCAA, and similar to those followed by Olympic shooters, in two disciplines: Three-position Smallbore Rifle, and International Air Rifle. |

Gun owners may not legally carry a gun in the passenger compartment of a car in the city of St. Louis.
But under a bill that won initial approval Wednesday from the Missouri House, these same owners could legally conceal a gun under a seat or in a glove box.
The sponsor of the bill, Rep. Wayne Crump, D-Potosi, said some commuters who come to St. Louis from outlying counties have to stop and put their guns in their trunks. |

A Lake Oswego kid could have been just another teen-age runaway when he hightailed it out of Lake Oswego in his dad's pickup more than a week ago. He probably wouldn't have made it onto the nightly news. But all bets were off when he grabbed three guns from his family home before leaving. |

A gun in the house can provide protection, but it can also be a source of danger if tiny fingers get near one.
St. Florian Police Chief Bill Hendrix said he wants to do what he can to make it as safe as possible to own a weapon when small children are around.
The department has received 200 gunlocks to hand out to town residents at no cost. The locks work on any type of gun, shotgun or rifle, Hendrix said. |

The Pennsylvania Gun Collectors Association, which sponsors six shows a year at the mall's exposition center, will no longer use the Hempfield Township facility.

Look who's supporting the Incumbent Protection Bill these days. Sarah Brady's organization, formerly known as Handgun Control, Inc., recently hailed the passage of the anti-gun bill in the House.
Michael Barnes, the president of the Brady Campaign, basically admitted that his group can't compete with pro-Second Amendment organizations. So he wants to "level the playing field" by silencing the voice of his opponents. |

The Police Department has scratched plans to sell its inventory of outdated guns to a dealer.
The Police Commission unanimously voted Tuesday night to rescind a motion made last October authorizing the chief to sell the weapons.
"It just doesn't strike me as right," said Commissioner David A. Wilson, a former Trumbull police captain and first selectman. Wilson was not a member of the commission when the vote was originally taken. |

In response to shootings in his Allentown neighborhood, Roberto Rosario bought a gun and told his teenage daughters to stay off the front steps. But Rosario remains worried about his family's safety.
