Today, Garry Breitkreuz, the Official Opposition�s gun control critic, released a summary of recent bureaucratic blunders in the government�s $700 million gun registry called: ERRORS, ERRORS AND MORE ERRORS. On February 7, 2001, the Edmonton Sun reported: Canadian Police Association president Const. Grant Obst said yesterday a lot of Canadian cops who believe in the �concept� of a gun registry have profound doubts that the one being run by CFC [Canadian Firearms Centre].

A man is recovering in hospital after being shot by armed police with a rubber bullet.

It is believed to be the first time a baton gun has been used on the UK mainland since it was approved last year.

Police were sent to the man's home after he called them to say he had a "chopper" and was going to kill his children, aged two and six.

A U.S. grand jury on Thursday returned two indictments against five current or former City of Miami cops in unrelated cases alleging obstruction of justice and violations of civil rights.

The announcement was made at a 4 p.m. press conference at the U.S. Attorney's Office, 99 NE Fourth Street.

"An incident last week in Israel makes the case as to how U.S. gun-control groups could be considered terrorist allies.

A Florida company is preparing to ask the Food and Drug Administration for permission to sell microchips that can be implanted in people's bodies.

The chips, which would be "voluntarily inserted," could be read by scanners for identification or medical information while embedded in people's arms, legs or other parts of their bodies.

"A Montana militia group with an arsenal of weapons planned large-scale assassinations as the first step to an escalating confrontation they hoped would lead to a war with the federal government," local authorities said Wednesday.

Flathead County Sheriff Jim Dupont said. "It all certainly supports the theory that there was going to be big trouble. The last I heard, it didn't take 30,000 rounds of ammo to kill a turkey."

The sheriff said his information came from "the very reliable informant."

Each tirade from Real America came with a link, alleging a tie between Dell and Handgun Control, Inc. (HCI) and "proving" the Dell Corp's "true beliefs" behind the Second Amendment.

With new government dollars in their pockets, federal and local "law enforcement authorities" in Wayne County announced a team effort Thursday to "crack down on people who carry and use pistols illegally."

"We're trying to penetrate that culture of those who carry a gun as if they're brushing their teeth," said U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Collins, whose Detroit-based office has received federal funding to hire four prosecutors dedicated to gun cases.

A delegation of MPs from London's most violent boroughs is to demand immediate and effective government action to stem the capital's spiralling gun crime.

Following a late-night Commons meeting last night called by Hackney MP Diane Abbott, she and the eight other MPs from Hackney, Brent and Lambeth plan to go to the Home Office to tackle what she described as a "lawless, valueless gun culture".

What was once a threat may become a "friendly lawsuit" over the impasse between the University of Utah and state lawmakers over the university's ban on legally permitted concealed weapons on campus.

Even though Rep. Shelley Moore Capito voted for a campaign finance bill the National Rifle Association bitterly opposes, the NRA's executive director says his organization might still support her in the upcoming election.

"(Her position on) that is one of the things we'll consider, but not the only thing," said Wayne LaPierre, who visited Charleston Thursday night to speak at an NRA fund-raiser.
