If Sen. Bernie Sanders wins the Washington State primary March 10, it will come as no surprise that it will have been made possible by the Seattle vote, if one reads a report appearing in National Review detailing what it suggests is the citys hostile takeover by Democratic socialists.
The story, authored by Christopher F. Rufo, is headlined Seattle is Socialisms Laboratory, and Its Not Pretty, is a grim look at the Jet Citys continued slide leftward.

The most I could ask of gun-control activists is simply for them to tell the truth about who they are, what they believe and what they want. Not only does this make for an honest debate, it makes it easy to build a case for the Second Amendment. |

Everyone knows that years are 365 days long, and we base our lives around that fact, even though it's not exactly true. In fact, it takes Earth 365 days and 6 hours to fully orbit the Sun, which leads to a calendar irregularity that must be rectified from time to time. Hence, we have an article now published on Feb. 29, a date we see only once every four years. Why not take the opportunity for a little look back to see where we were in the firearm industry the last time Feb. 29 rolled around? Here's a look back at the new guns and gear items we were discussing on Feb. 29, 2016.

A survivor of the 2018 massacre on Valentines Day at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and now enrolled at Harvard, student gun control activist David Hogg has become a sought-after speaker at colleges and universities, and the odds are off the chart that hell be given a prime-time slot at the Democratic National Convention in August. While I fully support his right to protest things he thinks are wrong, I respectfully disagree with his belief that school carnage will end if semi-automatic rifles are banned.

Behind a row of display cases housing dozens of handguns, Del. Wendell Walker, R-Lynchburg, haggled with a Campbell County resident over the price of a Smith & Wesson AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle. Having already hoisted the rifle off the pyramid-shaped gun rack, they volleyed a few prices back and forth and landed on an even $600. Putting down the full amount in cash, the resident flashed his drivers license and other paperwork, slid the gun into a box and walked away.

Like many liberals, Lara Smith considers herself a feminist, favors abortion rights and believes the nations immigration policies under the Trump administration have just been vile. But when it comes to guns, Smith sounds more like a conservative: She opposes reviving the nations assault weapons ban, enacting red-flag laws or creating a registry of firearms. The 48-year-old California lawyer owns a cache of firearms, from pistols to rifles such as the AR-15. |

The siege of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, is an important event in American history because it directly led to one of the biggest terrorist attacks on American soil the bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal Building. Its not necessary to defend this act of terrorism to understand why the entire freedom movement of the time was so incensed by it. Indeed, it stood as a symbol of federal overreach and the corruption of the Clinton Administration. |

The Massachusetts fall deer season is history and it was a very good year for many. Not a record season, but oh so close. Bay State hunters scored heavily with the shot guns as one would think, but it was not the gun that did the damage to our whitetail herd, but the bow and arrow. Shotgun hunters took home 5,500 deer, while archers took home 7,000. |

The Township Committee declared support for the Second Amendment at its most recent monthly meeting, making Hampton the latest Sussex County municipality to back the rights of lawful gun owners in response to calls from state leaders to reduce gun violence. The five-member committee unanimously approved the resolution at its meeting Tuesday. The document, in part, states that the governing body remains committed to supporting the rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution, including the Second Amendment thereof. |

One of the most highly-debated topics in the United States today is the appropriate role of firearms in society. Presently, the University of Pennsylvania bans the use and possession of firearms on campus, thereby making Concealed Carry Weapon Permits moot. However, this hinders the rights of students who wish to protect themselves through self-defense.

Gun owners in Alameda might be required to receive mandatory training to use their weapons. Thats one of the rules the City Council will consider Tuesday when it reviews a proposed gun restriction ordinance, just a week after a man walked into his workplace at a Milwaukee brewery and shot dead five people before killing himself.

Ive heard several friends in the shooting and personal-protection communities refer to the latest wave of slim 9 mm pistols as Twenty-First century J-frames. Looking at the market niches that have been occupied by these little guns, its really hard to disagree. Ankle and pocket holsters were long the rightful home of the Smith & Wesson Airweight Chiefs Special, its offspring and clones, but now youre as likely to find something like a Kahr PM9, Springfield Armory XDs or Smith & Wesson Shield pulling that duty as any wheelgun.

Gunsite Academy founder Col. Jeff Cooper would have turned 100 years old in May 2020, along with his wife, Janelle, who passed away last year at the age of 99. To honor and celebrate the memory of the couple, Gunsite will host a one-day match called the Jeff Cooper Memorial Shoot. The match will be held on May 24, 2020. In keeping with the event's title character, the shoot will be a retro-style match that incorporates several of Col. Cooper's old courses of fire. The match will not exceed 100 shooters, and the final 16 shooters will participate in a shoot-off in the famous "J Ladder" course of fire.
