I just wanted to put out the word that Out of Bounds this week will be dealing with my idea to repeal the Second Amendment and replace it with mixed martial arts. I am fully aware of the feedback I will receive, and I do understand the weight that this issue carries, but the Second Amendment is just one outdated piece of legislation.
Considering the history made on Capitol Hill Sunday night/Monday morning with the passage of the universal healthcare bill, our representatives in Congress need to re-examine some of the nation's old laws ~ such as the Bill of Rights ~ and consider the idea of "adding by subtraction" to further ensure our nation's security and it's citizens' freedoms. |

Thank you for violating liberty. Under this bill, Americans will be fined for not purchasing health insurance. This is a violation of my personal liberty. By declaring health care a right, you have violated my real rights (the right to life, liberty, and property). Rights are not bestowed by Congress. They are God-given and inalienable. Forcing me to buy insurance to support my "right" to health care is tantamount to forcing me to buy a gun to support my right to bear arms. Both are a grave injustice and a violation of personal liberty. |

Meade twice used an electric stun gun in an effort to subdue him.
After Meservey drove his Chevrolet Corvette into a chain-link fence, Meade fired his handgun eight times through the car's back window.
A special team of homicide investigators used computer analysis of the scene to pinpoint where Meade and others were when the gunfire began. They also interviewed dozens of people, including another Everett police officer who witnessed the shooting.
That officer told investigators that Meservey wasn't obeying orders but didn't pose an immediate lethal threat to Meade or anyone else. That officer also said Meade said something like Time to end this; enough is enough, just before opening fire. |

People convicted of domestic abuse couldn't own guns under a bill signed by Gov. Chet Culver that attempts to reduce domestic abuse.
Culver signed the measure at a ceremony Monday.
The gun ban has been a top priority of Attorney General Tom Miller and other prosecutors. They argue the law could help save lives because of the more than 200 homicides related to domestic abuse since 1995, more than half involved guns. |

I want to thank everybody who attended the Mesquite Area Oath Keepers Meeting on Thursday night, March 18.
It was a great success with members in attendance from Las Vegas, Arizona and from here in Mesquite.
The topic of discussion was from the Bill of Rights on the Second Amendment and the order of not disarming the American People.
The meeting featured three speakers: the first spoke on how many Rights were guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and touched upon the importance of these Rights.
The second spoke on the Second Amendment Rights and how it was similar in many ways to the State Constitution plus the City and County laws and ordinances. |

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels signed a controversial bill into law at the end of last week, that allows employees to bring their guns to work, permitted those guns are left hidden in their cars.
Just a few weeks prior, the states General Assembly had passed the bill HEA 1065 amid a flurry of debate between Second Amendment advocates, and those who argue that business should have the right to protect their own properties as they deem fit. |

Markey voted against the health-care measure in November -- a decision that a Cory Gardner rep still managed to criticize -- before voting in favor of it yesterday.
Now, of course, even more organizations are standing in line to take a swipe at Markey -- among them, Gun Owners of America, a Virginia-based organization that sees the health-care bill as anti-gun, too. Why? The group's argument involves government-takeover fears, not to mention weapons bans for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder that were enacted during the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations. Who knows how mad they'll be if Colorado lawmakers refuse to let vets treat PTSD with medical marijuana, too. |

Republican? Believe in American sovereignty? Pro-life? Pro-marriage? Pro-Second Amendment? What if Obama's health-care plan treats you like his secretary of homeland security did when she called law-abiding citizens "the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States" and initiated domestic spying on us? What if in addition to labeling political opponents as "terrorists" and initiating wiretaps of pro-lifers, Obama decided that such nefarious citizens aren't "eligible" for health care? We're looking at taxpayer-funded abortion and rationing based on who Obama's government committees thinks should live. |

You can't grab a girl hard, ever.
Never hit a girl.
If a girl gets physical with you either hitting or kicking or threatening you with physical harm leave right away. Hitting a girl in self-defense is not okay. Leave.
Ed.: Yes, because we all know that females have the legal right to assault, abuse, and even kill males. |

We must seek permissionand more importantly, we must obey.
Reason Two arises from the first: Bad laws attract bad men. What sort of human beingwhat sort of manwould Tase a middle-aged woman with her kids in the vehicle after pulling her over for a seatbelt violation? Or a college kidneither one armed nor dangerous nor physically threatening the cop in any way? Answer: A thug. Someone who ought to be on the other side of the Thin Blue Line but clearly isn't. Decent men and women just don't do such thingsbecause they aren't thugs. But such people are less and less inclined to get into the law enforcement business because the law enforcement business is increasingly thuggish and the idea of such work repels them. |

You might be interested to know that Washington and Oregon are deemed to be "open-carry-friendly" states, with liberal (meaning permissive) gun laws, while Alaska sets a kind of "open carry" gold standard (no surprise for Palin country). You might also be interested to know that Washington is more gun-friendly, legally speaking, than Texas.
That's because gun rights are strongly supported in Washington's constitution, and the fact that it is legal here, generally speaking, to carry a gun on your hip or a rifle over your shoulder, in the open, without a permit. Gun toters should feel more at home in the land of the Uptight Seattleite than the Lone Star state. |

Supporters of the new federal law said it makes national parks consistent with policy over vast federal acreage in national forests where carrying a gun is legal. They say carrying a gun is a right protected by the Second Amendment.
But passage of the law disappointed rangers associations and the National Parks and Conservation Association, a parks advocacy group based in Washington, D.C. They tenaciously opposed the law for years, fearing an increase in wildlife poaching and danger to visitors. |

But back to right now So theyve got their tentacles around our economy. Our banks. Our businesses. Our media. And nowour health.
Next up theyll come for our guns. A disarmed populace is so much easier to control, isnt it? But then againthey seem to be doing a bang-up job without touching the second amendment. It seems we can keep our gunswe just have to give up our Freedoms.
Will America go quietly into that good night? Or is there fight in her yet?
Ironic, isnt it? The people who pledged to unite Americahave divided it to a point not seen since the Civil War. |

Section two of the original bill concerning concealed weapons prohibited the carrying of "any explosive compound, firearm, or knife designed for the purpose of offense and defense" at any public gathering. The term "public gathering" was originally defined by the bill as any "athletic or sporting events, churches or church functions, political rallies or functions, publicly-owned or operated businesses" as well as various establishments that sell alcohol. The suggested changes would allow those licensed to carry concealed weapons to carry them anywhere in the state of Georgia, with the exception of courtrooms, jails or prisons. |

With dozens of spent shells at her feet, Sue Lowden shouldered a 20-gauge shotgun, peered through the sight and yelled "Pull!"
After a half-hour of missed shots, she finally hit a bright orange clay pigeon dead on.
"I demolished it!" Lowden shouted Tuesday, turning to a small crowd of supporters and friends at the new Clark County Shooting Park.
...
The event burnished Lowden's bona fides as a supporter of the Second Amendment, and gave her a chance to talk about the right of Americans to carry firearms to protect themselves. She has a concealed weapons permit and sometimes carries a handgun, she said. |

Locally, the Bay Area Open Carry movement is a loose affiliation of individuals who meet about once a month to advocate for gun rights.
Most participants say they openly carry a firearm, or "open carry," to exercise their Second Amendment right to bear arms, or to protect themselves and deter crime.
One participant said a primary goal of the meetings is to normalize firearms and encourage the public to support loosening California's relatively stringent gun laws.
"It's a battle worth fighting," said Walter Stanley, a 32-year-old political consultant from Livermore who attends the open carry meetings. "It's something I feel so strongly and so positively about. I want other people to have the option to carry firearms." |

Future Texas students will be reminded that Germans and Italians were interned during World War II in language designed, apparently, to soften the racial impact of the Japanese internment. They also will receive a thorough grounding in the Second Amendment and its importance and a plank that ensures that students learn about the conservative resurgence of the 1980s and '90s that includes the National Rifle Association. |

The Second Amendment and written historical records make it obvious that this is a personal right, yet the federal government still seems to think it can institute firearms and associated material bans with increasing frequency, Beginning in 1934, they banned automatic weapons. In 1938 they began to register retail sellers. In 1968 they restricted mail order by lawful citizens. In 1972 they created the BATF to enforce unconstitutional law against gun owners. 1986, ammunition ban precedent was passed. 1990 saw the precedent of limiting where you could possess a handgun, currently only in relation to schools. The beginning of delayed purchasing as well as a semi-auto ban of certain mean looking rifles happened in 1994. These all act to set precedent and attack various aspects of citizens rights to arms.

For the first time in the city's history, it will hold a public auction online featuring thousands of dollars worth of firearms. Rifles, shotguns, handguns and other types of firearms will be sold as part of the auction being hosted by Assiter Auctioneers. The auction is scheduled to start this afternoon and run through April 6.

He said it's also important the firearms are re-registered with federal databases.
Many of the weapons on the block this year, he said, have been off federal registrations for so long there is no record of their existence. City officials want the guns back "on the books," he said. |

A Northumberland County police officer who shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself died Sunday morning in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Montour County, officials said.
Michael W. Miller, 37, an 11-year-veteran and a corporal with the Sunbury Police Department, had been in the hospital since the shootings in his residence early Saturday, authorities said.
Miller shot his wife, Robin L., 38, several times, including once in the head, following a domestic dispute Saturday about 2 a.m. in their Sunbury residence, investigators said.
Miller then shot himself, authorities said. |
