From the first model offered by Samuel Colt in the 1830s until the early 2000s, the heart of Colt's Manufacturing was the revolver. Colt made its name with its innovative revolving cylinder, first seen in the 1836 Paterson, and revolvers were a principal part of the company's product offerings until 2005, when the last limited-production models rolled out of Colt's factory. Now, Colt is reviving its legendary "Snake Gun" lineup, and the latest re-introduction in 2021 is the Colt Anaconda chambered in .44 Mag.

Sharon Spivey-Oliver, a 54-year-old Black woman, felt vulnerable while closing up her business in the suburbs to head home in Detroit. Her guard was raised more often with the presidential election approaching.
Spivey-Oliver didnt want to be easy bait for a would-be mugger or someone who saw her Black skin as a target. She and her husband had never owned guns before, but it felt more dangerous to live and work in 2020. They decided to purchase handguns and obtain concealed pistol licenses.

A South Carolina senator has a proposal to make sure no federal law can ever seize guns make everyone over 17 who can legally own a gun a member of a militia. South Carolina's constitution allows the governor to call up an unorganized militia" of any able bodied male citizens between ages 18 and 45. State Sen. Tom Corbin's proposal would automatically expand membership to everyone who is over 17 and could own a gun. |

For several years the FBI has been operating a shadow gun ban regime whereby Americans who are not prohibited from possessing firearms under federal law are being denied their Second Amendment rights without due process. This extralegal practice was brought to light again in recent weeks in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit case Turaani v. Wray. The case revealed that the FBIs current administration of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System amounts to a may-issue gun purchasing scheme that is incompatible with the proper adjudication of a Constitutional right.

After two years of litigation over a botched computer program to register so-called assault weapons in California, a settlement has been reached between the state and all parties involved, the Second Amendment Foundation revealed today. The case is known as Sharp v. Becerra. In 2016, the California Legislature created a new assault weapon classification requiring registration. But there was a problem with the online registration process that prevented gun owners from actually complying before the July 1, 2018 deadline, so a lawsuit was filed by several parties including SAF, the Firearms Policy Coalition, Calguns Foundation, Firearm Policy Foundation and the Madison Society Foundation, along with several private citizens. |

One size does not fit all when it comes to mounting a red-dot optic on a pistol. Bases on aftermarket units are not necessarily identicalso-called footprintsand the pattern milled into the slide of guns made to accept them varies by manufacturer, sometimes model. Adapters and plates remedy the conflict, but the number of incorrect combinations is dizzying. Shooting Illustrated contacted the experts to help clear up the confusion.

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest") |
