A gun maker is causing a stir online with an ultra-concealable handgun designed to look like a common smartphone.

Ideal Conceal, a company based in Monticello, MN., is awaiting patent approval on a double-barreled derringer chambered in .380 ACP which is virtually indistinguishable from the smartphones nearly every American is used to seeing in public.

The hammerless firearm uses a striker-fire design and eschews iron sights in favor of an onboard laser to increase its concealability. Its also equipped with a built-in clip, eliminating the need for a holster.

Well, heres an interesting angle in the Second Amendment rights fight this week; the Supreme Court reversed a decision (Jaime Caetano v. Massachusetts) made by the Massachusetts Supreme Court that related to the states ban on stun guns. The Bay State prohibits civilian ownership of such self-defense items, except for those who are in law enforcement. The case was brought before the Court after Jaime Caetano was arrested and convicted for possessing the stun gun after police found it in her purse, while looking into a local shoplifting incident outside a supermarket. For now, the U.S. Supreme Court vacated the ruling by the Massachusetts Supreme Court, which upheld Caetanos conviction.

HB 4009 allows individual sto carry slungshots in their pockets without concealed weapons permits.

A slungshot is a maritime toola rope with a weight thats wrapped in a knot called a monkey fist. Theyve traditionally been used to help sailors toss lines, but they became popular weapons among 19th-century street gangs.

The bill repeals the law that makes it a first-degree misdemeanor to carry a concealed slungshot.

Firearms owners are becoming an increasingly-important voting bloc in center-right politics, and its important to discuss and define what specific issues and laws are important to todays gun owners in this upcoming election. With that in mind, I reached out to some of the people who defined Gun Culture 2.0 in order to get their opinions on the legal matters of today which matter to gun owners, and this was their response.

This is not the first time that this Pope has inappropriately condemned weapons manufacturers.

This is not Christian theology. It is Merchants of Death conspiracy theory. This theory claims that it is arms manufacturers who push for and cause wars. It minimizes conflicts between nations and people who have ideological and religious differences, or who are competing for limited resources such as territory, food, raw materials, or for dominance. The theory, like many conspiracy theories, is popular among people who want someone to blame for wars, and an easy fix to stop wars. Movies have been made with this theme.

Supporters said House Bill 859 is a campus safety measure that gives students a means of self defense.

State Rep. Heath Clark, R-Warner Robins, called it a piece of common sense legislation.

The measure would not apply to most typical undergraduates. Concealed carry licenses are for people 21 and older or those in the military.

But detractors, including leaders of the state's university system, say they do not want guns on campus. During debate on the bill this year, state Rep. Patty James Bentley, D-Butler, said students with guns might not use them for self defense, but rather against other students.

Some lobby groups, such as Moms Demand Action, are asking Deal to veto the bill.

The Lone Star State will soon have more than 1 million citizens licensed to carry concealed handguns.

With the recent terror attacks, such as San Bernardino, combined with charges that President Barack Obama wants to further curtail the Second Amendment, more people than ever are buying guns and applying for concealed carry licenses across the country, but especially in gun-friendly states like Texas.

Ed.: For values of 'gun-friendly' that include no right to carry a handgun (though we are allowed to ask the State of Texas for the privilege to carry a handgun).

The Second Amendment Foundation, a gun rights organization in Bellevue, called 50 an infinitesimal number and proof that I-594 isnt working.

It just proves to me that the initiative was a lot of flash and not much substance, Second Amendments Dave Workman said.

Workman said the initiative is an inconvenience to more than a million Washington gun owners and its not been effective in punishing felons who break the law.

Have there been 50 arrests and 50 prosecutions? Workman asked.

State court records show there have been no prosecutions related to I-594.

In light of the recent San Bernardino terrorist attacks, many states are beginning to relax their restrictions on concealed carry weapons (CCWs). Because of this change in policy, in combination with the December tragedy, Americans are purchasing smaller guns that can be used as CCWs. The reason people are moving to smaller guns? Its easier to store, conceal and find concealed carry holsters that dont leave an imprint.

I blew my leg off! yelled the Georgia man after his 20th assault rifle round landed on target, blowing up an old lawnmower.

Absolutely, 100 percent do NOT try this at home.

Exercising your 2nd Amendment Constitutional rights should always take second place to valuing your own life and limb, but this foolhardy rifleman forgot that and is paying the price.
