The .30-30 (pronounced thirty-thirty) cartridge was Americas first small bore sporting round that used smokeless powder. The round served as a transition between the traditional black powder of the 18th and 19th centuries and the smokeless powder that became popular during the turn of the 20th century and remains so today.

The .30-30 is a rimmed, bottlenecked cartridge that houses a lead, semi-jacketed bullet with a diameter of .308 inch. The .30-30 casing neck measures .330 inch, while the base has a diameter of .422 inch. The case is 2.039 inches long.

Late Sunday night, the Washington House of Representatives quietly attempted to go to work passing unconstitutional anti-gun legislation off the House Floor. Despite overwhelming outcry from the public, hours of debate and offers of amendments that would have prevented law-abiding Washingtonians from becoming criminals, the House voted along party lines 57-40 to pass ESSB 5038. ESSB 5038 will now head back to the Senate for concurrence. Your voice is needed to urge Senate Democrat Majority Leader, Andy Billig, to hold the bill and prevent a concurrence vote on this unconstitutional piece of legislation.

Flashback to 1986, Dade County, FL. What came out of the now infamous Miami Shootout was the development of a new standard for ballistic performance. Called The FBI Test Protocol, this new rating system required upgraded penetration and wound cavity standards, including a standard that all defensive rounds must penetrate ballistic gel at least 12 inches when shot through a series of mediums such as denim, heavy coats, and other commonly worn fabrics.

The Ninth Circuit ruled in Young v. The State of Hawaii that ruled that an individual does not have a right to bear arms outside the home. In 2011, George Young applied for a firearm-carry license, but Hawaii denied his application. The state requires gun owners to show the urgency or the need to carry a firearm openly. The applicant must also be of good moral character and be engaged in the protection of life and property. Hawaii determined that Young did not meet these requirements.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) was once the gold-standard for professional, unbiased law enforcement, with the exploits of federal agents and U.S. attorneys in battling crime, terrorism, and discrimination a source of pride and reassurance to Americans across the political spectrum. Joe Biden, however, appears determined to undermine that reputation and tradition with nominees for senior DOJ positions whose credentials are rooted in activism, rather than a commitment to impartial justice.

To celebrate their origins, the Republican Party holds Lincoln Day dinners, and the Democrats until recently held Jefferson-Jackson dinners. Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and the third U.S. president, has fallen out of favor because he owned slaves. In 1779, he wrote "A Bill Concerning Slaves" for Virginia, which, though it opened the door a crack toward eventual emancipation, still perpetuated slavery with harsh penalties for any infractions.

Tomorrow, March 30th, the New Hampshire Senate Finance Committee is expected to vote on pro-gun legislation that fixes the handgun purchase process in the Granite State. Please contact committee members, by email and phone, and politely ask them to support Senate Bill 141.

Senate Bill 141 resolves New Hampshires longstanding problem with delays during handgun purchases, by abolishing the state gun line system that the State Police currently use for handgun purchases. Instead, the process for purchasing a handgun will now mirror buying a long gun, which goes through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
To have no proud monarch driving over me with his gilt coaches; nor his host of excise-men and tax-gatherers insulting and robbing me; but to be my own master, my own prince and sovereign, gloriously preserving my national dignity, and pursuing my true happiness; planting my vineyards, and eating their luscious fruits; and sowing my fields, and reaping the golden grain: and seeing millions of brothers all around me, equally free and happy as myself. This, sir, is what I long for. -- General Francis Marion, American War of Independence, Georgetown, SC [Source: 'Marion, The Life of Gen. Francis Marion' by M. L. Weems, Ch.18]
