She stole it, and I cant even press charges, in part because shes my wife, and in part, because I had it coming. The year was 2012. I was doing a story on the Springfield Armory EMP (Enhanced Micro Pistol) and its lineage to the 1911 TRP model. I had a loaner pistol sent my way the original 3″-barrel 9mm model. |

From the ashes of the 2020 Remington Outdoor bankruptcy, Marlin Firearms has emerged again, but it didnt rise without help. Another storied American firearm brand, Ruger, purchased the rights to the 152-year-old company and is currently producing new guns in its Mayodan, N.C., facility, but you wouldnt know it by looking at the guns themselves. When asked whether or not the Ruger name would appear on production guns, Rugers CEO Chris Killoy responded, No, it wont. Were going to maintain the Marlin brand. Were very proud of the Marlin brand and its history. |

The Bellevue-based Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is gearing up to fight Washington states impending ban on the sale of high-capacity firearm magazines. Senate Bill 5078 prohibits the sale of gun magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds, along with the manufacturing, distribution or import of such magazines in the state. On Friday night, the bill which passed the Senate on Feb. 9 passed the House by a 55-42 vote. SB 5078 will now move to Gov. Jay Inslees desk. Inslee has previously said he would sign it. The bill would go into effect July 1.

Back in 2021, the South Carolina Court of Common Pleas ruled in favor of Attorney General Alan Wilson, agreeing that the City of Columbias anti-gun ordinances violate the states preemption law. In 2019, Columbia had passed ordinances to restrict the home-building of firearms, to allow for Second Amendment rights to be suspended and property to be seized without due process, and to ban firearms within 1000 feet of schools, even though existing federal law already does that.

Recently a leftist journalist from The Nation named Elie Mystal referred to the U.S. Constitution as "trash". He appeared on The View last Friday to promote his new book "Allow me to Retort: A Black Guys Guide to the Constitution". This is the ideological battle in which we are engaged in America.

Most people buy a tactical shotgun for its intended purposehome defense. But the thing about shotguns is they are versatile. Ive relied on a Benelli M1 Defense for all kinds of shooting since the early 1990s when Heckler and Koch began importing the inertia-driven shotguns from Italy to the U.S. Its short stock and barrel fit nicely with my small frame (bigger shooters may struggle to shoot this gun accurately because most Defense models have a length of pull under 14 inches). And though it was not built with the intention of being a clays gun, its become my go-to skeet smoothbore. |

Dear Gabby, Shannon and Mike,
The instant the first Russian T-80 crossed the Ukrainian border, the whole world could see the uselessness of everything youve ever said and everything youve ever done. Youve been overtaken by events mooted and muted in one fell swoop, so scram. Leave the field. It is time for you and your gun-ban groups to go. |

Known by several names including .45-70 Government, .45 Government, and .45-70-45 the .45-70 was developed by the U.S. government and is one of their greatest cartridges. Even today, the cartridge retains the respect of hunters and shooting enthusiasts, and is one of the very few cartridges that has continued to thrive after being converted from using black powder to smokeless powder. The .45-70 was developed at the historic Springfield Armory in Massachusetts as a short-term replacement for the .50-70, which had been adopted just over a decade before.

Since the District of Columbia v. Heller decision in 2008, gun control advocates have parsed every word of Justice Antonin Scalias opinion for ways in which to continue their campaign against the Second Amendment. Relying on creative interpretations of dicta, these activists try to twist the landmark gun rights ruling into an endorsement of their anti-gun policies.

For many years, our right to keep and bear arms has made steady progress at the state level. While some outlier stateslike California, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New Yorkcontinue to struggle under the control of anti-gun extremist politicians and bureaucrats, many states have abandoned imposing a draconian gun-control agenda on law-abiding gun owners, and the push to expand the Second Amendment has flourished in those states capitals.

A man driving in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, Penn., was unexpectedly thrust into a self-defense situation when a teen allegedly tried to rob him on Jan. 11, 2022. The driver was in his car, stopped at an intersection, shortly after midnight that early Tuesday morning when a youth approached. As the 18-year-old stranger walked up to his side window, the driver spotted that the teen had a gun in his hand. Unknown to the would-be robber, however, was the fact that his intended victim was a concealed carry license holder. |
