... "Mexico is a perfect real-world laboratory for looking at what happens when the gungrabbers get their wish list fulfilled, and anti-gun policies are enacted at a societal levelthe old adage that when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns (aside from the military and police, that is, the 'Only Ones')proves out. Which leaves citizens who simply wish to protect themselves the terrible consequences of breaking the law and facing life-destroying penalties..." ... |

... "I've been doing my darndest, tapping into Second Amendment sources, to assist in the effort to get justice for Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry who was murdered near where I live by a bunch of border bandits armed with AK 47s. Interesting that the guns came from Phoenix and were 'walked' into the hands of the bandits via ATFs 'Fast and Furious' scheme ... I guess that also makes me a 'conservative'." ...
"But I drive the Second Amendment folks to distraction covering the efforts of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to require background checks for all gun sales in the country. And I really dont understand why anyone needs a semi-auto AK 47 or Glock 19 with extended ammo clips for deer hunting or home defense ..." ... |

"Ill have to admit, it took awhile for me to come around to the idea that according to the Second Amendment of our Constitution, there couldnt be any reasonable restrictions on the right to 'keep and bear arms.' Everyone remembers the day, almost 10 years ago now, when the Supreme Court rendered its decision in the Smith v. Wesson case. Ruth Bader Ginsburg, reading for the majority, extended the courts rulings of 2008 that struck down a number of federal and state statutes regulating gun ownership as unconstitutional. ..." ... |

... "So, let's sum up the experience of Rene Jaquez: The ATF (and by extension DOJ) was fundamentally unserious about the Mexico offices, which were supposed to be (in the initial plan during the Bush administration of the Southwest Border Initiative which later became known as Project Gunrunner) the key to our new partnership with Mexico."
"More importantly, Jaquez says he made the decision to speak publicly about operations in Mexico after being transferred against his will to Washington, which he said happened retaliation for suspicions that he criticized the 'Fast and Furious' operation." ... |

"Scandal along the U.S. Mexico border continues to plague the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and is raising eyebrows on Capitol Hill."
"When Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was shot and mortally wounded in a gun battle about 10 miles from the Mexico border in Arizona in December, 2010, it appeared to be yet another example of Mexico drug gang violence spilling over the border. But as more and more information from the crime scene leaked out, disturbing evidence also pointed to serious wrongdoing at the ATF." ... |

"One of the first gun rights bloggers who originally broke the story of the smuggling of U.S. guns to Mexico by rogue agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (the ATF)--an agency of the Department of Justice--is reporting this morning that the official spin has begun, attempting to portray the scandal as nothing more than a lack of adequate personnel to monitor the flow of guns to Mexican drug cartels. In short, the scandal is no scandal at all but an example of the need for more ATF field agents to keep tabs on the sale and purchase of U.S. firearms." ... |

"Approximately 1.3 million residents of Illinois hold state-issued [FOID] cards, and if the current plan of Attorney General Lisa Madigan comes to pass, their names will become part of the public record. Madigans decision comes in response to a public records request by the [AP]; the AP claims 'that the list of FOID cardholders is public record and must be disclosed. The permit holders' addresses and telephone numbers would remain private.' But such an attempt to dismiss privacy concerns is easily negated by the ease with which a host of Internet search engines ... could easily allow criminals to reconnect those permit holders names to their addresses and phone numbers." ... |
