"The Second Amendment Foundation is delighted that the Washington State Supreme Court has unanimously denied the City of Seattle's petition for review in the case of Winnie Chan v. City of Seattle, a legal action brought by SAF, the National Rifle Association and five individual plaintiffs."

"The decision affirms the state's long-standing preemption law and two lower court rulings, thus preventing the city from banning firearms from city parks property." ...

"Washington CeaseFire (or maybe CeaseFire Washington, I've seen it both ways) has just spent $50,000 buying bus ads touting various anti-gun messages and, as we've mentioned, they're oh so full of fail. One of their most heinous efforts, though, regurgitates the classic Kellerman study figure that a gun in the home is 43 times more likely - oops, sorry he has since recalculated the figure to be only 22 times more likely - to be used to kill someone in the home than to kill an intruder. But with the 'correction' RF knows me too well. There's no way I can let them get away with that bogus number . . ." ...

"As much as gun control advocates might wish otherwise, their attacks are running out of ammo. With private firearm ownership at an all-time high and violent crime rates plunging, none of the scary scenarios they advanced have materialized. Abuse of responsibility by armed citizens is rare, while successful defensive interventions against assaults on their lives and property are relatively commonplace."

"National violent crime rates that soared for 30 years from the early 1960s began to decrease markedly since 1993. Last December the FBI reported that murder and other violent crime rates fell again by 6.4% during the first half of 2011 compared with the same period in 2010. ..." ...

"The 2012 election is going to be more important than any other election before and for at least two reasons: it will test whether we are paying attention in our nation of self-rule and whether we are too late to pay attention. When citizens refuse to vote, it is more than giving up the right to criticize; refusing to vote has taken the self out of self-rule. If you dont rule, someone else will. And they do." ...

"The NSSF is out with a new Doug Koenig video on handgun shooting. Goal setting is an important part of getting better. While much of what he is saying applies to competition, it can apply equally well to practicing for self-defense. If you go to the range just to blast away, you are plinking. But if you go with a goal in mind and certain skills you want to work on, that is practicing."

"Nazir Al-Mujaahid, in case you missed it, is the Aldi shopper and licensed CCW holder Wisconsin's first who stopped an armed robbery in Milwaukee by shooting the dude who was allegedly waving a rifle around. And although hes been cleared of any wrongdoing, the MPD still have his gun and holster. As you'd expect, Wisconsin Carry isn't happy about it. JSonline.com quotes Nik Clark, WCIs prez: 'WCI believes that these acts by the Milwaukee Police Department represent violations to law-abiding citizens' constitutionally guaranteed right to be free from illegal seizures of their private property and their constitutionally recognized right to keep and bear arms.'" ...

"Recent Tennessean editorials have strongly opposed the right of citizens to exercise their Second Amendment rights while on private property, such as having a firearm locked in a vehicle in an employee parking lot. The implication of allowing private property rights to trump the Second Amendment eviscerates the ability of a citizen to have self-protection guaranteed by our Constitution." ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest")
