"Gun control groups claim to support the Second Amendment. 'We dont want to take away anyones guns,' they routinely assert. 'We just want sensible gun laws to keep guns away from criminals and mentally ill people.' No matter how many times they say it, no matter how credulously or complicity the media accepts it, its a lie. Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Everytown for Gun Safety, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence they all want to disarm all Americans (save the police and other government agents). Every now and then, they just cant help themselves . . ."

"Joe Nocera is the New York Times in-house anti-gunner and hes is at it again, this time defending the [ATF's] proposed ban on M855 'green tip' ammunition. 'Seven or eight years ago, makers of assault rifles like the popular AR-15 began making handgun versions of these powerful weapons [AR-15s]. These handguns use the same bullets as the assault rifles, including some that are armor-piercing ... Quite sensibly, the A.T.F. realized it needed to take another look at the issue of whether certain armor-piercing bullets that had long been associated with rifles were now more problematic because they could be used in these new, more lethal handguns.' Oh dear . . ." ... |

"... once on campus, concealed carry holders of every age are turned into idiots. Not just students, but also the visitors, staff and faculty suddenly become irresponsible if they carry a gun Even the dozens of truck drivers who deliver to the university have a sudden change of character when the front wheels roll onto campus. Sure, that sounds crazy, but that is what university administrators from Texas, Idaho and Florida told us. ..." ... |

"Todays New York Times carries an Op-Ed about the unfolding controversy involving the [ATF's] attempt to ban the M855 cartridge for modern sport-utility rifles that now has the conspiracy theorists having fits because an exemption for the round was deleted in the latest regulations manual."
"The ATF has issued a press release calling it a 'publishing error' that has 'no legal impact on the validity of the exemptions.' The agency says the regulations guide will be corrected in PDF format, but that may not satisfy a growing number of angry gun owners, many of whom think it is time for the agency to go." ... |

"The green tip bullet goes in an AR-15."

"Two years have passed, but the Ontario County Board of Supervisors still feels the same way about New York's adopted gun control law."
"State Sen. Michael Nozzolio, R-Fayette, and Sen. Kathleen Marchione, R-Halfmoon, introduced legislation that would repeal all or most of the SAFE Act. Sen. Rich Funke, R-Perinton, and Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb, R-Canandaigua, have co-sponsored similar bills that seek the same purpose."

"I would like to respond to the recent Another Voice claiming that the NY SAFE Act is popular and makes sense. First of all, dont blame the GOP for wanting to repeal this nonsensical law. There are many people, with varied backgrounds and political beliefs, who feel this sham law should be repealed."
"The SAFE Act was passed in the middle of the night, strong-armed through the Legislature by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. It was a response to a heinous school shooting. Unfortunately, so much pressure was put on legislators to pass it that many did vote for it based on emotion, not on common sense. Most legislators did not even read the legislation before voting on it." ... |

"Last November four California gun dealers filed suit on First Amendment grounds against the nations best-looking attorney general over the states 1923 vintage law that prohibits gun retailers from displaying any image of a handgun that is visible from the street. Of course, Kamala Harris is busy running for the Senate seat soon to be vacated by the vacuous Barbara Boxer, so Golden State gunnies may not have her to kick around much longer. In the mean time, as the case winds its way toward a showdown before a federal judge, both sides are trading barbs and motions as they jockey for position. Heres a press release that Calguns issued today . . ." ... |

"When Accomac County, Virginia Circuit Court Clerk Samuel H. Cooper Jr., an elected official, began offering gun owners in his county the option under recent but obscure legislation to apply for a Virginia concealed handgun permit (CHP) that included a photo, he did not think the move would be controversial. But when it comes to gun regulations, things can get complicated pretty quickly."
"... One criticism of Clerk Cooper was that his offices photo-CHP contained a statement to the effect that CHP holders must immediately notify police officers if they are carrying a concealed handgun."
"... Virginia is in the majority of states that do not require gun carriers to notify police officers that they are carrying concealed handguns." ... |
