"Here's a bad idea about to happen: broad immunity for gun manufacturers, distributors and dealers who negligently provide weapons to criminals and terrorists."
"Legislation working its way through Congress would give that free pass to the gun industry and deny victims of violence the right to seek compensation in court." ... -------
KABA Note: Actually the bill specifically states that dealers who break the law and manufacturers whose guns blow up are not protected. |

"Legislation passed in Kansas last week is a good first step toward bringing the gun rights of Sunflower State residents into the 21st Century, according to the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA)."
"The legislation contains a new section that pre-empts local gun ordinances, so that all firearms regulation will be uniform, from one end of the state to the other. Gun control extremists have lashed out at the bill, contending that it prevents Kansas communities from passing their own gun laws." ... |

... "If passed, HB 2414 would ban the possession of a wide variety of semiautomatic sporting firearms owned by hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Illinois citizens. Under HB 2414, gun owners would have 90 days to surrender their firearms to the police, or face felony prosecution and stiff jail sentences. Any such firearms they surrender would be forfeited without compensation." ...

"The Minnesota Court of Appeals upheld on Tuesday a lower court's ruling that struck down a law that expanded access to concealed weapons permits because the Legislature passed the law improperly."
"The unanimous ruling by a three-judge panel of the court was a blow to advocates of gun rights. They had backed the 2003 law, which removed most of the power of police chiefs and county sheriffs to deny the permits." ...
Submitter's Note: Actually the Sheriffs retained full discretion, they just had to back it up in court and pay court costs if the court disagreed.
