Today, were in our American manufacturing facility in Lonoke, Ark. Youll see that Big Green is back and stronger than ever. Remington is synonymous with America itself, said Jason Vanderbrink, Remington Ammunition president, from the factory floor. The new video from Remington, titled Wheres the Ammo? features Vanderbrink addressing Second Amendment-supporting Americans straight from the factory floor and answering the titular question of the video.

Making the first shot count applies just as much to turkey hunting as it does when chasing any other quarry. Yet, many hunters turn their noses up at the thought of going after gobblers with a break-action single. Theres real satisfaction, and usually cost savings as well, in taking the challenge of bagging big birds with one shot. Here are the best of the best single-shot shotguns some old and out of production, others brand new but theyre all ready to punch your tag.

The former police chief of Connecticut's largest city was sentenced Monday to one year and one day in prison for rigging the hiring process that led to his appointment in 2018.

A federal judge in Bridgeport handed down the punishment to Armando A.J. Perez, who rose through the ranks of Bridgeport police to lead the department as its first Hispanic chief over a nearly four-decade career there. He and the city's former acting personnel director, David Dunn, resigned in September and pleaded guilty the following month to defrauding the city and making false statements to FBI agents in connection with the scheme.

A fact checker for CNN has called Joe Biden on false and misleading statements he made about gun laws and gun shows during his recent unveiling of his initial gun control package, which suggests there is more to come and it will be bad news for gun owners.

According to the CNN fact checker, when Biden claimed that the only industry in America a billion-dollar industry that cant be sued has exempt from being sued are gun manufacturers, he was making it up.

#6 Lead Shot Ammo: #6 Lead Shot Explained

#6 lead shot is pretty much dead center when it comes to weight, number of projectiles, and diameter of your bird shot. This particular shot, as bird shot implies, is for birds of various sizes, but leans more toward large game birds. Turkey, grouse, chukker, partridge and ducks are going to be your prey here, and you wont find a more versatile shot around. You can easily choose from different shell lengths for added pellets and spread giving you roughly 35 yards of almost guaranteed killing range on a large turkey and about 45 yards on smaller birds when used in a 12 gauge shotgun.

Last week, the Assembly Public Safety Committee voted to pass Assembly Bill 1223, to place an additional excise tax on firearms and ammunition, and Assembly Bill 311, to restrict firearm "precursor parts" from display or sale at gun shows. The committee sent AB 1223 to the Revenue and Tax Committee, and AB 311 to the Appropriations Committee for further consideration. Assembly Bill 1223 taxes firearms at $25 each, and ammunition at a certain percentage yet to be determined, in order to fund social services programs for gun violence. The taxes are to be collected from California retailers on new firearms sold, and on their retail sales of ammunition.

The Struggle Over Firearms Pistol Braces Continues ~ VIDEO

Pistol braces have been a constantly controversial accessory since Sig Sauer made them mainstream with their SB-15 Brace at SHOT Show in 2014. The brace concept was originally developed by Alex Bosco, founder of SB Tactical. A good summary of the early history of the devices and a reminder of how quickly they become an area of confusion because of ATF ineptitude can be found in this article from 2015 by AmmoLand News own Christian Lowe. More than anything else, the lack of clarity around pistol braces, combined with the unreasonable burdens created by the National Firearms Act, create the circumstances under which significant restrictions could too easily be applied.

While I am not an attorney and cannot give formal legal advice, a 1943 U.S. Supreme Court decision, Murdock v. Pennsylvania, may give Second Amendmentsupporters an overwhelming legal weapon with which to destroy every single firearm ownership (although not necessarily concealed carry) licensing scheme in the country. This includes those that require licenses to own or purchase firearms.

Gun Talk host Tom Gresham talks about the gun proposal by Councilman John Nickelson that the Shreveport council will take under consideration. Shreveport council members will consider the Nickelson gun measure that would prohibit guns being left in unattended cars. The measure would require that guns be locked in the trunk, a locked glove compartment or a lock box that is permanently attached to the vehicle. This bill also calls for a fine of not more than $1,000 dollars for violators. Nickelson says this is one small step to try to keep guns out of the hands of thieves.

A 3-judge panel of Floridas First District Court of Appeals issued an opinion in Florida v. City of Weston, which unanimously determined that the challenged penalties for violations of the states firearm and ammunition preemption law are valid and enforceable. The penalties at issue, in this case, were enacted in 2011, and can be imposed against governmental entities and individual officials. Preemption laws prevent localities from creating their own firearms restrictions, thereby ensuring peaceful gun owners are not subject to a labyrinth of dozens or hundreds of different laws within a state.

Missouri lawmakers are advancing a sweeping firearms bill that would allow concealed guns on public transportation and in churches. The Republican-led House on Monday gave initial approval to the bill in a voice vote. Currently, people need permission to bring firearms into places of religious worship. The bill would allow people with concealed carry permits to bring guns in churches, synagogues and mosques regardless.

President Biden sent his nomination to the Senate on Monday for retired ATF agent and Giffords policy advisor David Chipman to head the agency. Pro-gun groups call it a mistake of epic proportions. The nomination for Chipman comes days after Biden described the vocal gun control proponent as "the right person, at this moment, for this important agency."

House Bill 1911, by Rep. James White (R-Woodville), and House Bill 1927, by Rep. Matt Schaefer (R-Tyler), NRA-backed permitless carry proposals that would allow law-abiding citizens to carry a handgun without a state-issued License To Carry (LTC), have been reported out of the House committee but have not yet been scheduled for debate on the House floor. It's time for Texas to join the 20 other states that have legalized this personal protection option!

Florida Lawmakers are Trying to Pull a Gun Rights Switcheroo

The current Florida legislative session adjourns on April 30. Republicans hold a 24-16 majority in the Senate and a 78-42 majority in the House. Given those margins and the current climate in the country, you might think that pro-gun rights bills would be flying through the legislature (or that Capitol would be open to the people). Youd be wrong.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
"Some people think that the Second Amendment is an outdated relic of an earlier time. Doubtless some also think that constitutional protections of other rights are outdated relics of earlier times. We The People own those rights regardless, unless and until We The People repeal them. For those who believe it to be outdated, the Second Amendment provides a good test of whether their allegiance is really to the Constitution of the United States, or only to their preferences in public policies and audiences. The Constitution is law, not vague aspirations, and we are obligated to protect, defend, and apply it. If the Second Amendment were truly an outdated relic, the Constitution provides a method for repeal. The Constitution does not furnish the federal courts with an eraser." --9th Circuit Court Judge Andrew Kleinfeld, dissenting opinion in which the court refused to rehear the case while citing deeply flawed anti-Second Amendment nonsense (Nordyke v. King; opinion filed April 5, 2004)
