"Second Amendment defenders James and Laverne Lambert are pleased to debut their online handgun holster shop, http://www.HolsterIt.com. Responsible handgun owners are invited to browse the site for appropriate holsters, carrying cases, and digital and biometric safes."
"'Ive had handguns for over 50 years,' said James. 'After taking a concealed carry course, and purchasing handguns for that purpose, I was dismayed that gun dealers did not have much in the way of quality holsters for the guns. We believe that every handgun owner should have a holster that fits the gun, the owner, and the purpose.'" ... |

"Reasonable doubt is a powerful thing. In a court of law, reasonable doubt is enough to compel a jury to issue a not guilty verdict. In the court of public opinion, however, reasonable doubt is enough to lead to a predisposition of guilt."
"That is a powerful distinction. It's a distinction not lost on the television professionals at NBC News. That distinction, coupled with a determination to defend the division from a charge of repeatedly pushing a bias, and the ability to always have the last word is generally enough to deflect all but the most dedicated critics." ... |

"For anyone looking for a reason as to why Chicagoans are shooting each other more often, how about this one: its now legal to own a handgun here."
"The Supreme Court issued its McDonald v. Chicago decision, which held that local governments do not have the right to write their own gun control laws, in 2010. The decision overturned the citys handgun ban, and the police department began issuing permits later that year."
"Since the beginning of this year, 120 people have been murdered in Chicago. Thats a 60 percent increase over 2010 and 2011. ..." ... |

"When the U.S. Supreme Court tossed out the District of Columbias handgun ban in 2008 ... it tossed back to state courts the future of that balancing act between the Second Amendment and efforts to regulate handgun possession."
"This week the Supreme Judicial Court weighed in on the case of a Fall River miscreant named Damian Gouse, who claimed his conviction of unlawful possession of a firearm 'violated his right under the Second Amendment ...'"
"With all due respect to hunters and target shooters and other Second Amendment fans, the aforementioned Mr. Gouse ... is exactly the kind of fellow Massachusetts guns laws were designed to help put behind bars if possible. ..." ... -------

"While the Oikos University shooting was tragic, we must look beyond this regarding 'gun laws.'"
"Almost daily, we hear of tragic murders, often of innocent children and adults. It's apparent most of those killings are committed by people having no business owning guns in the first place. Many guns are bought by fringe groups, or criminal elements, or people with mental issues." ... -------
Submitter's Note: Just FYI, the average number of children murdered with a firearm annually, from 1999 to 2009, is a hair over 182. The number of children murdered with something other than a firearm over that period is a hair over 797. I don't think that gun are the problem. |

"In which Newt serves up meat so red its still mooing. Im all for this idea, by the way not because the treaty has a prayer of passing at the dictator hangout at Turtle Bay but because itd be fascinating to see how many votes it got even from western nations. "Officially the National Rifle Association convention is not supposed to begin until Friday, at the Americas Center of St. Louis, Mo. But really the NRA convention began Thursday in a courtroom in Sanford, Fla., its keynote speech delivered by a man in a jail jumpsuit who barely said a word."

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight. And it is in such twilight that we all must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness. Justice William O. Douglas, US Supreme Court (1939-75) |
