Last, but certainly not least, HB 1927, aka Constitutional Carry by Rep. Schaefer was passed by the Texas House. Many of you have contacted my office asking why HB 1238 was not moved to the Floor for consideration instead. The goal from the beginning was never to get my bill across the finish line. The goal was, and has always been about you, the People. The various authors of ConCarry like Chairman White, Rep. Hefner, as well as myself concluded the best man for the job was Rep. Schaefer, and he did us proud. Last night, the Texas House, with bipartisan support, proclaimed that the only permit any American needs to carry a firearm was issued in 1791, after the ratification of the Bill of Rights.

Ten people, including a police officer, were killed last month in a mass shooting at the King Soopers supermarket in Boulder, Colorado. I was shocked to learn that one of the victims was Denny Stong, someone I knew well.

Stong and I had recently connected through our mutual love of history. Our joint fascination with the American Civil War led us to working toward historical preservation in Colorado and the Southwest. We had plans to make a presentation to the public at a museum later this spring.

The bill passed out of the Texas House of Representatives and is now on it's way to the Senate. HB 1927 will allow all law abiding Texans to conceal carry their firearms without the hurdle of having to obtain a conceal carry license.

The NRA Has Imploded, But Republicans Are Ready To Hold The Line On Gun Control Without Them

With the Senate split 5050, Democrats would need to win over 10 Republicans on any gun control measure to override a filibuster. Expanding background checks enjoys broad bipartisan support outside of Congress and polls show even a majority of Republicans are in favor. But this has been true for years, and no bill has come close to passing since 2013.

One thing that does seem certain is that gun control, in one form or another, will get a Senate vote this year. This week Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer listed gun safety as a key priority that he intends to bring to the Senate floor, though he did not give a timeline.

It is very important to evaluate and use the correct bullet weight or grain for your particular handgun purpose and application. Several factors and the inter-relationships among bullet grain, muzzle velocity, muzzle energy, penetration, expansion, recoil, and terminal ballistics for any specific load and handgun affect a shooters results and accuracy.

On 15 March 2021, Fredy Pacini, a 61-Year-Old tire and bicycle shop owner from Monte San Savino, Tuscany, Italy, was officially notified he would not be prosecuted for shooting and killing one of the intruders who had broken into his shop, at night, with a pick-ax. From newsrnd.com:

For the judge it is reasonable that Pacini could have foreseen that, shortly thereafter, he could have found himself in serious danger of his life and that we feared for his safety. In addition, the fact occurred in the middle of the night, in an isolated area and that the police, even if they had been immediately alerted by the alarm system, would not have been able to intervene on the spot for 15-20 minutes .

House Bill 1293 expands the list of firearms that an individual can carry in their vehicle under North Dakotas Constitutional Carry law. HB 1293 also removes the restrictions on certain times of the day when one can open carry, and reduces the residency requirement for Constitutional Carry from one year to 30 days.

House Bill 1297 expands the list of locations that law-abiding gun owners can carry a concealed firearm for self-defense. HB 1293 clarifies that athletic events are only a prohibited location if they are school sporting events. Further, the measure allows for concealed carry in churches if the church has adopted a policy to allow it instead of previously having to obtain specific permission from the preacher or counsel.

From what we know of this incident, it looks like this woman did everything right. It started as her ex-boyfriend was moving out of the apartment when he apparently decided that it was appropriate to say goodbye by punching her in the face.

The woman then called 911 and followed her ex out into the parking lot to get his license plate number and then returned to the apartment. It wasnt long though before he returned and kicked open the door. He caught her by a leg as she was attempting to move up some stairs presumably to get away from him and it was at this point after this that she shot him. The ex died at the scene. This all happened at about 3:45 in the afternoon.

If one reads only the last 14 words of this sentence, it seems to unambiguously affirm the right of citizens to gun ownership. But thats not what the sentence as a whole states. The 16 words that precede them limits such ownership to a single purpose, namely participation in a well regulated Militia. This phrase, subtended by its intended purpose, means participation in a state-authorized force for the protection and preservation of the Commonwealth.

A grand jury will consider whether to bring charges against a man who drove into a crowd demonstrating in Austin against police violence last July and shot and killed an armed protester, prosecutors said Friday.

Travis County District Attorney Jos Garza announced the move in a statement without identifying the man who shot Garrett Foster, 28. The mans attorneys have identified him as Army Sgt. Daniel Perry, a Fort Hood soldier, whom they say was working for a ride-share company and acted in self-defense after Foster pointed a gun at him.

Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) sure loves some of that sin-tax money. Thats the kind of money when a Member of Congress wants to ban things but cant. So they go to their second favorite activity. They tax it.

U.S. Rep. Raskin likes his gun policies both ways. If he cant restrict Americans ability to lawfully purchase a firearm, hell gladly accept the tax dollars paid on them by Americans while at the same time trying to price them out of their Second Amendment rights.

Rep. Raskin isnt deterred by gun control bills already passed by the House of Representatives. He introduced tax increase legislation as an end-run gun control effort instead. Its nearly the next best thing for a gun control politician.

Fourteen Ohio House Republicans have signed onto a bill that could allow the state to reject federal gun laws and rulings that state lawmakers feel violate the Second Amendment.

House Bill 62 is labeled Designate Ohio a Second Amendment Sanctuary State.

Freshman Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) sponsored it, along with Rep. Diane Grendell (R-Chesterland). Loychik calls is a "safe haven" act, and said it doesnt block federal guns laws and rulings, but puts up roadblocks to enforcement.
