"The licenses, which would generally would expire after five years, would cost $30 each. In addition, local police and sheriff's departments, which would fingerprint applicants, could levy a fee of up to $12. Scott said the fingerprinting would deter criminals from applying."

~~This is a sure way to make our children feel unsafe and unsecure: drill into their heads that they are in constant fear for their lives, and the only thing they can do is run and hide. While they are at it, they are obviously instilling in them fear of guns, as evidenced by this child's quote:

Sheriff's officials said the vast majority of the contraband came from the people who normally don't pass through the detectors. More than a dozen lawyers - and one unnamed judge - were seen quickly exiting the building after realizing their passes wouldn't work, Daly said. The list of confiscated goods included: dozens of knives and box cutters including a switchblade, brass knuckles, pepper spray and handcuff keys. Most of the items were legal to carry, just not into a courthouse.
