Gun rights activists are either already aware or beginning to be aware of a need for national concealed carry reciprocity. At present, the right to carry is abridged, to a degree, by the lack of reciprocity between states for concealed carry permits and/or constitutional carry laws. Otherwise perfectly law-abiding citizens on one side of a line that can only be seen on a map are criminals on the other.
Granted, many licenses do not cross state lines, such as professional licenses for educators, Realtors, and lawyers. Drivers licenses, though, are honored by all 50 states. |

Cosmopolitan magazine would like us to believe that women have the moral high ground when they second guess their boyfriends owning firearms. It helps that they didnt choose the most articulate men in this little mock interview session, but the women merely trot out a few reasons to be scared of guns without any supporting evidence. As National Reviews Ericka Andersen summarizes, Within seconds, the viewer is aware that Cosmopolitan believes women think guns are scary death machines, men that own guns are probably domestic abusers, and the Second Amendment is worthy of nothing more than an eye roll. |

The only thing police can do is recommend filing a restraining order which is an official invitation to murder whoever files it.
People have been deluded by leftists into thinking the Constitution gives them rights to police protection.
That is hogwash.
The right they should look to in the Constitution is the Second Amendment the right to bear arms.
That is never mentioned in 99.9 percent of these Hollywood reenactments of True Crime. |

This is not an April Fools joke. The Washington Post actually did publish the March 26 story with a dateline from Richmond, Calif. The story discussed a 21-year-old man who had been released from prison last year, and was reportedly getting money from the City of Richmond not to commit another gun crime.
People just released from prison are prohibited from having a firearm. Gun control laws say so. Committing armed robbery or some other offense with a firearm is illegal. It really doesnt matter that the newspaper observed, Cities across the country, beginning with the District of Columbia, are moving to copy Richmonds controversial approach because early indications show it has helped reduce homicide rates. |

The Second Amendment: Americas Original Homeland Security. These are more than mere words emblazoned on a T-shirt offered by the NRA Store. But like many slogans and soundbites rendered on cotton/poly blend knit, there is a deep, underlying, often unspoken, truth to it. Americans are different than the people of other nations. The United States has citizens, not subjects. Americans can and do use their personal firearms for the protection of themselves (and at times in our past, the state)as they have since the first settlers stepped off a boat onto a swampy Virginia landscape in 1609. |

Books not bullets, chanted a group of professors and students at a south Georgia university as they protested House Bill 859, commonly known as the Campus Carry bill Friday morning.
The group at Valdosta State University talked to passers-by about the bill, trying to get them to join the protest by warning them about what they called the potentially dangerous consequences of the legislation. As written, HB 859 allows those with a concealed carry license to bring a handgun into classrooms, dining halls, administrative buildings and other parts of public colleges, universities and technical schools in Georgia. |

Robert Otteson did not deny he stabbed and killed Francisco Narvaez in a Denton hotel room in 1983.
But the man, on trial for murder, said it was self-defense. A jury believed him and rendered a not guilty verdict Thursday in Denton Countys 16th District Court, with Judge Sherry Shipman presiding.
Otteson is now free to return to his family in Lakeville, Minnesota. |

What could possibly go wrong with hundreds of resentful candidate loyalists attending the most fractious political convention in decades with their guns?
The Secret Service decided: Plenty.
In response to more than 43,000 signatures on a Change.org petition calling for the right to bring firearms into the Quicken Loans Arena at the Republican national convention this summer, the federal agency, which oversees security at both party conventions, said that weapons would be prohibited, except for those carried by authorized law enforcement officers. |

What a bunch of weenies!
Republican Party leaders apparently are sometimes just wimps when it comes to defending what they universally claim are sacred Second Amendment rights.
Tens of thousands of people have signed petitions in favor of allowing guns to be carried openly at the GOP convention in Cleveland in July. Party leaders have said nothing about the matter, but the Secret Service has announced that only duly authorized officers will be allowed to bring firearms to the conclave. |

"He said, 'Ted, when it comes to Supreme Court justices, when it comes to religious liberties... you got to learn how to cut deals with Democrats and go along to get along.,'" Cruz said, as members of the audience booed.
"Well let me be very clear with the people of Pennsylvania: I will not compromise away your religious liberty. And I will not compromise your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms."
His words were greeted with wild applause.

A new law has two unlikely groups coming together for a common cause: gun rights activists and suicide prevention advocates.
The law aims to decrease the number of suicides in Washington by introducing suicide prevention techniques to the gun world.
Supporters said the law is the first of its kind in the country. In addition to creating a suicide prevention task force, the new law urges gun salesman to be trained to identify suicidal customers and encourages hunters safety instructors to talk about suicide, not just gun safety, in classes. |

OK, Im actually way too young for that last one. We gave up our freedom in America a long time ago, way before I was born. Matter of fact, I know the date Americas freedom was lost. It was June 26, 1934. The day the National Firearms Act became an unconstitutional law. The Second Amendment died that day. Its been downhill since then, freedom-wise.
I know what youre thinking. Youre thinking, No, Kendal, we still have freedom. We can still own guns, so we still have the Second Amendment. Bless your heart. Please try not to be such a gooberhead, and pay attention. |

On Monday, March 21, 2016, the Supreme Court of the United States held that the Second Amendment applies to all instruments that constitute bearable arms.
The decision of the court was unanimous. The case, known as Caetano v Massachusetts, dealt with a Massachusetts law that prohibited stun guns. The law was upheld by the Massachusetts Supreme Court, but was overturned by the United States Supreme Court. In the decision ordering the law to be vacated, the court stated that the Second Amendment applied to arms that were not in existence at the time of the founding. In short, that means that the AR15 and a variety of other arms are now protected. |
