"The Census Bureau has reported what amounts to a 'domestic migration' from three large cities in three key states, and the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) blames much of this population flight on repressive gun laws."
"The Associated Press reported Thursday that, according to the Census Bureau, states losing the most people are New York, California and Illinois."
"'This is no mystery,' said SAF founder Alan Gottlieb. 'Those states are infamous for their anti-gun attitudes. Countless times have we heard from people who have moved from those states because they wanted to escape the Draconian gun laws.'" |

"If the United States ever elects the wrong president or gets the wrong majority in Congress, law-abiding Americans could lose the right to own firearms by a two-thirds vote of the Senate, alone."
"It's scary enough that someday Congress could vote away that right, but the Constitution provides a back door to gun confiscation."
"And waiting to walk through it is the United Nations, that wonderful world body that has a Human Rights council comprising the world's worst goon nations and whose Security Council is powerless to deal with whacko Iran because Russia and China are making too much money dealing with Iran to act against its nuclear terrorism ambitions. It is seeking a worldwide treaty that in effect would disarm Americans." |

"With only one dissenting vote, the Senate gave final approval Wednesday to letting people shoot to kill those who unlawfully or forcibly enter a home or occupied vehicle."
"The vote sends the measure, SB 1145, to Gov. Janet Napolitano who sidestepped questions about how she feels about the proposal. She will be under some pressure to veto the measure since Attorney General Terry Goddard and an association of county attorneys oppose it, saying it will allow guilty people to go free." |

"Wal-Mart's policy regarding guns varies, but it has stopped selling them at about 1,000 stores, and that's good news for folks who believe guns are too readily available."
"With 1,200 discount stores and 1,900 super centers, the decision will affect about a third of Wal-Mart outlets."
"While this was a marketing decision by the world's largest retailer, there is comfort in the knowledge that guns are a little tougher to come by, that cruising off the highway into just any Wal-Mart does not assure that a gun purchase is just moments away."

"A politically charged debate over gun rights brewed Wednesday as a state House committee passed a package of bills that would make citizens who injure or kill attackers in their homes, yards or even on public streets immune from criminal charges and lawsuits."
"While courts across Michigan already recognize anyone's right to self-defense, there is no automatic legal immunity for people who use deadly force to fend off assaults."
"The legislation approved by the House Judiciary Committee would change that. No longer would assault victims have to try to flee before using deadly force, which common law requires in self-defense cases anywhere other than the victim's home." |

However, I find your referral to "the NRA and its legislative stooges," in your April 8 editorial, somewhat disturbing. Are you unable to make your point without resorting to invectives -- the use of which seems to be standard liberalism?
Perhaps your editor should be "parked in a trash can," along with the bill you opposed.
