People of God, wake up to the prospect of violence in church, says a retired Texas police officer who's coming here to conduct safety training for religious congregations.

"It's hard to get church people to think in terms of violence occurring on their property because their religious mindset causes you to think 'This is God's house. He will protect it,'" Jimmy Meeks said. "But nowhere in the New Testament are we told a building is God's house. The statistics of what's happening pretty much indicate that he's not protecting his house.

"In the mind of a criminal there is no sacred place. You have to get these church people to wake up to the reality.

"Why not love your people enough to protect them?"

It looks like the gun lawsuit that Bernie Sanders has both condemned and cheered could actually go to trial. Yesterday a Connecticut judge set a trial date of April 3, 2018, for a lawsuit against the manufacturer, distributor, and dealer who supplied the Bushmaster XM15-E2S used in the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. In the meantime, the plaintiffswho include the families of nine people murdered at the school, plus a survivor of the attackcan proceed with discovery. It's not exactly clear what they hope to find, since the case hinges not on facts but on the way they're spun.

In her mad dash to get back into the White House, Hillary Clinton is relying on the ignorance of the American people and the compassion people feel for victims of gun violence. Its almost a syndrome at this point, a case of Tourettes with her zombie gun control lies that she just cant help but spew out into the atmosphere.

The latest potential assault on our Second Amendment rights and the gun lobby (aka: gun owners who want to protect their Second Amendment rights) is a campaign ad featuring the daughter of the principal who was killed at Sandy Hook.

House Bill 3098 would allow Oklahomans 21 and older to openly carry a firearm in public without a permit. Current law allows open carry only for those who have obtained a concealed carry permit a process that includes training that would no longer be required under HB 3098.

The bill does preserve some restrictions. Oklahomans couldn't take a firearm into a government building, school, jail, casino or sports arena under the legislation.

The Caetano Supreme Court gun decision had so many critically important features it is unfathomable it did not steal the entire news cycle when it hit on March 21, 2016. A mere shooting by a sick person in a small town does that.

The U.S. Supreme Court just handed down such a monumental Second Amendment decisionits 113th gun casethat if the mainstream media had been doing its job it would have dominated the front page for days, and devoured cable news chatter for 24 hours daily, worse than the jihad or any other minor preemption that consumes news.

The armed robbers, John Grossklaus, 28, Larry Shaver, 28, and Whitney Kabiru, 23, worked together to gain access to the elderly mans home. Kabiru approached the home and knocked on the elderly mans door, asking to use his phone for an emergency. When he allowed her to enter, her accomplices, dressed in dark clothes, burst into the home, flashed a gun and demanded the homeowner surrender his valuables.

Rather than become a victim, the 80-year-old homeowner drew his own weapon and shot at the three armed robbers.

This year, New Yorkers celebrated by voting to keep the country that was christened in blood at Lexington and Concord.

A study released April 20 by the Brennan Center for Justice shows that the murder rate jumped 13.3 percent in Americas biggest cities during 2015.

Three Democrat-run, heavily gun-controlled citiesBaltimore, Chicago, and Washington DCaccount for more than half of the murder increase, the report admits.

The study claims that the murder increase in these cities is driven by local factors rather than national trends.

But somehow our state lawmakers have time to consider a bill that would allow someone in bankruptcy to protect up to $5,000 worth of firearms from debt collectors.

It is stunning that the S.C. House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the bill, introduced by Rep. Alan Clemmons, R-Myrtle Beach.

Mr. Clemmons said he learned that other states have similar laws. He didnt provide any evidence that the issue has arisen in South Carolina or that the bills passing would benefit the state in some way.

No one offered a bill suggesting that someone in bankruptcy could shield $5,000 worth of canned foods that might sustain a family or a car that might enable the bankrupt individual to work and rectify his financial situation.

The bill extends the amount of time that a Delaware gun buyer might have to wait for a background check to be done from three days to 30 days.

To me, this is a no-brainer bill, said House Majority Leader Valerie Longhurst. She added that lawmakers have an obligation to protect public safety, and that only one gun in the wrong hands can have drastic consequences.

Its a public safety issue, said Longhurst.

Representatives of the Delaware Coalition Against Gun Violence also spoke in favor the measure, arguing that it is not unreasonable to make gun buyers wait for a background check to be completed.

In June of 2014, Lenka Knutsons concealed carry permit application was denied by the Flathead County Sheriffs office. But after hearing the sheriffs decision, Knutson decided she would file something else.

Legal papers.

The 34-year-old Slovakian woman, a legal resident with a green card who lives in Whitefish, MO with her husband and children, is now suing Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry for denying her right to carry. Knutson, who happens to be a member of the Second Amendment Foundation, filed the suit as a co-plantiff with the SAF on Monday.
